It is strange with Charles. Looked capable for the most part, and in the position we’d want him. He can’t have the trust in him for whatever reason only he knows.
Yeah as much as I don’t rate Martin I’m not blaming him too much for today. First half we should’ve scored at least 3 then just cruised through the game second half. We tried to cruise through the second half with only a single goal lead, that is on Martin and his subs were his usual “he’s good just chuck him on” with no tactical thought about how anything will actually work
Disappointing but if we cant deal with Cardiff at this level we are a long way from ready to compete in the Premier League.
It is what it is. We are where we are. This one isn't on Martin, it's the missed chances, though again they didn't do it on purpose. The playoffs will be more fun. Looking forward to a rocking St Mary's on the 16th or 17th May when we roar to Wembley.
Bet Russ regrets goading the Cardiff fans at St. Mary's though. These things always come back to bite one on the a*se.
Despite being off the pace from the start we still created enough chances to have won 3 or 4 matches, just in the first half. The players have to take the responsibility for missing them and again at the start of the second half. Have to agree that the substitutions were dreadful and weakened the team, so that is on RM but by that time we should have been 5/6 up and playing ole football for fun. **** football.
At the end of the day we are where we are and we will end up where we end up. The regular table doesn't lie. If we secure enough points to get autos then we are worthy, if not we will be in the playoffs. The playoffs does skew things somewhat though as a team finishing 6 can ultimately end up going up! It's not over until the Fat Lady Sings! There could be many more twists before the end of the season!
Sooner or later we are gonna have to rebuild Richie. It will be easier, cheaper and with greater porential to do that in the Championship. Also give us the opportunity to decide if Russball is really the answer to a maiden's prayer.
This is the bit in Star Wars when Obi Wan Kenobi is 'killed' by Darth Vader, but then re-emerges as 'The Force' - We've got 84 points, and three more games, so a maximum of 93 points. No other club has got to 93, yet. So they'll all fail from now until the end of the (normal) season, and we'll get automatic promotion, as Champions. Oh, and The Death Star is destroyed. Meanwhile, back on this planet, we'll either resume our winning ways for the last three games, or we'll be in the playoffs. Either way, this season has been the most fun I've had for a long time (I don't get out much)
Just spoke to my mate who summed it up pretty well. “Football wise we are probably the best in the league when we are on it. Football nous wise we are comfortably one of the worst in the league”
If Che had not managed to be absolutely bang average most of the season or Stewart hadn't been eternally injured we would have comfortably gone up imo, we create more chances than any other side in the league by an absolute mile, but our finishing isn't promotion worthy.
