Odd game really. A draw is fair. Missed a penalty and they had the best chances, they just didn't take them so it evens out. We didn't create much but for the most part we were at least trying to take the game to them, it just didn't click so much today. I think there were a few times we played too safe, but it's understandable with how open things were getting. Allsop made a couple of saves you'd probably expect him to make but then seemed determined to give the ball away multiple times. I've had enough of him now. Ref was pretty poor.
How many times was Seri dribbled past today? On the ball, he looks quality. Off the ball, he looks like a little boy in a man’s game.
No, that recruitment is why we're 7th. If there was a poster on here that last year had said we would sign some promising young players, have a go at it, but ultimately fall just short, there's no way most people on here would have taken them seriously.
Id like that to be traore Allsops and sharps last appereance for us Get tufan on an atletico madrid pre season
Seri doesn’t do enough for me, supposed to be best player on the pitch but all he does is 10 yard sideways passes
Their finishing was awful. They should have won that. We missed a couple of half decent chances but missing a penalty is unforgivable. A team with real promotion credentials gets out of that game with a one nil win. We are where we are.
Feel like that game showed the impact a good keeper can make and ours has cost us too many times this season. Enjoyable 0-0 though.
I think he’s the player who should be sacrificed in midfield next season to bring in someone younger and better defensively. He’s tidy in possession but he offers nothing off the ball to protect the back four. Watford players on several occasions today glided past him and he did nothing. He really should be an impact sub next season to look after the ball and retain possession if we’re comfortably in front.
I used to think Seri didn't do all that much, but it was shocking how much we missed him during AFCON. He definitely contributes in ways that might not be as flashy as some would like, but he'll be missed when he's not there anymore.
Lot of people saying they had the best chances and let us off, but our xG* was more than double theirs. Story of our season. Whether it's home or away and regardless of fast or slow, who plays where and what formation, we just haven't been anywhere near ruthless enough across the season. Whether it's finishing in open play, converting penalties, killing teams off when we're on top, defending from set pieces against teams who don't have a hope of scoring otherwise, and so on. Just too few of these situations have been clinically handled. *Before anyone pisses their pants in excitement to trot out the most pointless cliche in football, yes I'm already aware that it's goals that count, not XG. Everyone is aware of that, I guarantee it doesn't need pointing out. Nevertheless it's noteworthy to look at an objective measure of who had the better chances in the game; and whilst xG is flawed in some ways, it's the best easily available measure.
There will be much said and much written... but the Post Mortem will show, deficiencies in playing staff, deficiencies in recruitment and I personally daren't look at the points dropped going back to the very beginning of the season that would nearly have given us an auto berth, let alone an improvement season on season.
This was not the game for him , they did it at home , they were too mobile and powerful and passed him by , they really were a dirty team who the ref was too lenient with .
yea we know all to well, that sometimes the games in the championship are scrappy affairs i watched lester earlier, and vardy does what we lack he pops up 6-8 yards out and scores the type of stuff that sharp did a few years ago
