SilverArrow, I'm worrying for your sanity now. The other countries still follow F1 without top drivers because they're used to it. Most teams and countries know they're place. Britain owns F1. Britain owns football. Britain owns cricket. Britain owns rugby. In GB, we don't play second fiddle. The great irony of everything you've said is that opposing teams like Redbull are based here because they know we are the best.

Last time I checked:

Yes Britain is the most successful in F1, yet with the thanks from many more other countries getting involved with the team.

Britain doesn't own football, more like Spain since they have the top players in 2 teams. Messi, Ronaldo, xavi, villa, iniesta, ozil, etc...

Britain doesn't own cricket, India does.

Don't make me laugh about rugby since we were ****e this year in the world cup, that belongs to New Zealand and Australia.

Yeah we sure don't play second fiddle, but I swear people like you could convince a dog turd to be a bar of gold if you kept on harping on about it enough.

To be honest which era are you living in, the modern era, or the 1950's with the radio on saluting to the national anthem? Think you need to take off those rose tinted glasses and get with the times because it looks like your living in a little bubble where Britain rules everything.

By the way thanks for the typical right wing patriot dig bringing up my sanity and try to make me look like an outcast within your own big pond. Nice try but sadly your not the only patriot troll I've met on the Internet. Your little defensive stances to small attacks won't work as it's you who is on the losing social side.

There is NOTHING wrong with being patriotic. There is NOTHING wrong with NOT BEING patriotic.

Pointless argument. People have different beliefs, different ways of forming their basis for supporting certain teams/drivers. Neither way is wrong nor evil. Move on.

SilverArrow. The Premier League is the biggest league in the world watched by over a billion people. Fact. England are ranked above India at test and Twenty20 cricket. In fact England are ranked at number one. Also a fact. Are you female by the way? I had just assumed you were male.

What's your point? It's club football, it has nothing to do with how good we are as a country at football. Most of the players, managers and owners are foreign. La Liga, Bundesliga and Serie A are huge leagues and rely on their own talent rather than buying everyone else's. When it comes to the national team we're ****e, and the players are morally wayward overpaid tossers to boot, and we have to rely on an Italian manager to qualify for major tournaments. We're a joke when it comes to football.

I support the cricket team and Andy Murray, that's it as far as British talent is concerned.

I'm a Vettel fan. Button's probably my second favourite right now, but will drop to fourth if Kubica and Raikkonen return.

*clap* *clap* *clap* Nice try but wont bite, again with your little digs that stink of a troll.

Who won the Cricket world cup, India! Who have the most championships in both forms of cricket in it's history, Australia!
Who won the Champions league, World cup, Euro Cup and are ranked number 1... Spain!

So how does a Billion viewers in your eyes show them "owning it" in football...delusion at it's finest. You better make sure you go to the doctor, today infact! and look for the signs of dementia because it looks like you are already suffering with it.

And to be honest I find that little dig a very Sexsist insult as he is being condescending towards women, so I say a mod should delete it, or is sexism allowed now?

I bet there are tens of thousands of women sportsfans in Britain that could make you look like an idiot when it comes to sport.

SilverArrow, what do you do know when they play the British national anthem and hoist the Union Jack? Does it stir anything in you?
And what do you do you do when they play the german anthem? Just curious.

You know funny enough while you mention it.............nothing!

Let me guess you start to cry when the British one comes on like a bunch of North Koreans, but start to boo the German anthem like most right wing nutcases as you're the most likely to bring up History that didn't involve about 80% of the German nation now?

SilverArrow, showing his true colours now, crying to be the mods. I knew you were a PC infested lefty. Accusing me of being sexist cause you've lost the argument and not believing in free speech. Typical lefty.

Neither Silver or myself have called anyone a racist, our underline comment is to stop alienating people.
Please do not twist the topic.

It is good to underline the principle of not alienating people, but I think a distinction should be drawn:

Patriotism alienates no-one if it is purely that.
That is why it is a different word to 'nationalism', 'xenophobia', 'racism' and 'genocide'.

The differences should be clear and these words should never be confused.

I believe the racist comment was used right at the beginning of this debate just after true_blue said come our boys and it is that which I am responding to as it seemed like quite a bold comment to make about someone who was simply cheering on the british lads, thus sparking this whole debate.

I agree. It appears that some people are quick to lose sight of the distinction.

At least, I hope that is the case; otherwise it would suggest that some people are taking 'political correctness' to extremes; which - if that is the case - ultimately undermines itself by stirring up both reasonable objection AND polarised objection which tends to be less reasonable, further fuelling the fire…

Using "our boys", underlines the theory that everybody on here is a Mclaren supporter, this is what alienated me and Silver and other on here that haven't spoken up.
This is undoubted.
And in which way is this racist? I was only making a justifiable point.
