We have - as long as we're not firing blanks.

It was simple and solid from the back on Tuesday, I’m for keeping it that way.

Yup. I liked what I saw of Lumley but Macca is an old hand, we need more experience. Hope he’s not too rusty!

If he’s not fit, please play Shea, not Willy & Joe. Please.

Ugh. If Downes doesn’t start that could lead to the RM overthinking it problem.

Far, far rather he kept Flynn fit for Tuesday. Shea should be enough for this game.

I don’t disagree. Just disappointed Flynn is potentially out again because he’s so good, and because as we’ve seen in the past, RM doesn’t trust Charles to replace him and usually starts playing players out of position and over complicating things instead.

It seems that people can't sleep. It's like Christmas Day all over again - what has Santa Russ got for us? Will we get the Scalextric set up we saw in Hamley's window, or will it be the Woolworth's version that 'Looked the same on the box'? Will our hopes be given a boost by WBA in the early kick off? Will our new goalkeeper strategy pay off? Can Saints live up to our expectations? Of course they can. And they will. I'm confidently predicting a stroll in the park, akin to the second half v Preston, interspersed with moments of footballing brilliance. 3-0 Saints. COYRs!!!

Think I'd rather see Stephens at DM than Charles personally.

He's our captain, good tackler, good ball carrier, good in the air, more aggressive. Better all round than Charles imo.

Charles has just not looked that great this season; good in patches, that's it. For me it's still too early to be playing someone so young and inexperienced in our only DM position, in such a massive game. If we played two DMs, then fine, put him in.

As much as Stephens is everyone's favourite scapegoat at the moment, he's just a better player than Charles at this stage in their respective careers.
