So far I haven’t changed my mind and I’m going tonight, I’ve been donated a pair of boots as I seem to have misplaced my last pair

Does anyone know if there's any walking football teams that don't just take over 65s? I love football but can't run anymore due to injuries but would love to play walking football.

I would love to get back into footie, while in competa my son in law put me forward to play walking football with a team from torrox. The ground was very impressive, like a small stadium. I went thinking “ walking football “ this will be a breeze, honestly I could barely walk afterwards. Asked if I’d play the following week but told them its a bit far from Ull lol. 2 nights later I was in the Pav darts team, honestly I was like a geriatric walking to and from the board, could hardly lift my arms lol. I would definitely be up for a game. I’m also on kingswood mind….

The "Long John Silver Strollers" might take you on, but I can't find their contact info.

Not certain about other clubs M88 but NF walking football has 2 players under 60 - just. They mainly play 60+, 65+ and 70+ matches that I know of so depending on your age you should find a game :emoticon-0148-yes:

It was cold and it pissed it down, I stood there and really questioned myself “what the **** am I doing”
I walked off at the end thinking “if Rosie saw that tonight, seri’s on the bench Saturday” :)

    great to be back playing

Little update, I’ve trained a few times and we had a friendly today on uni.
That 4g pitch is huge:), I went from uni to Kingswood and by the time I got home I couldn’t move.
I’m laid on the sofa ceasing as we speak…..but I really enjoyed playing again

Well done. Going through the exact same pain after 90 mins yesterday. RICE is my best friend, rest, ice, compression, elevation. Hopefully Rice can bag a goal tonight too!

Playing for a team. Train Wed nights and a game every other Sunday. I'm made for 5 aside football really so adjusting to the big pitches and the strength needed has been really tough along with carrying knocks that don't seem to heal but it's all worth it and I'd regret it when I physically can't anymore.

That sounds like a pretty good way to get back into it, a new team and that. You'll come across plenty in the same boat too, along with the freak that's about 60 and still the fittest in the team.
