We even restricted our usual pre-half time wobble to a couple of misplaced passes instead of losing control for 10-15 minutes. Really impressive performance. My son is miffed as he couldn’t get out of an evening at an escape room, so I don’t fancy his chances of getting out of the escape room. We're just playing well. It happens sometimes. Just accept it. I don't think it's necessarily down to McCarthy or Manning being in the team to be honest. Wonder how many people will praise Russ-ball if we get the win. Probably zero.
The back four seem to be playing flatter when we have the ball at the back, giving us an easier chance to move the ball around without going back to McCarthy. Still playing Russball but without the risk, plus we have been so balanced, despite players interchanging positions.
Russ ball isn’t necessarily the problem. It’s the lack of an alternative when it either isn’t working or can’t work due to the nature of the game. Our streak shows that when it works it is very very effective. At least in this division when our team and squad is stronger than the majority. I am skeptical about how it would go in the PL if we somehow got there this season

Looking really good, but Preston look like the worst opposition this season so far unless they can suddenly step up. They are playing completely the wrong game against us and we are just picking our way through.
