No chance. These games are meaningless now. In the pressure games, we caved. Dodds is a good coach and hopefully he sticks around for another year before having a stab at another club.
The trouble with appointing Dodds as Manager will be when he’s sacked. We will lose a good coach as well as the Manager. Keeping him (Doddsy) as head coach means we Will Still have a good head coach here after whoever is appointed eventually gets the boot. All this Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young stuff is giving me Deja Vu.
It's a learning curve, you can see with the reversion to 5-4-1 he has found something that can potentially work next season. Either way, you and I don't decide.
Had to look this up to see what it was about. Four fantastic British surnames, if something similar launched today in the US I'd likely be: Canucci, Silverstein, Nūnez and Yang.
If we are serious about a promotion push next season we need to make an appointment that shows intent. Sadly, Dodds/Heckingbottom isn't that, it only shows we go after a cheap option.. I wait with interest to see who it is
I have absolutely no idea who the right man is, whether Dodds is good enough or even in the frame but what I do know is I’m glad I’m not the one having to make the decision!
Need rid of all that sh!te like. Cannet beat a good Craggs Underwood Nelson Turner. Tompkins Watson Atkinson Thorpe isn't bad either.
I agree...he does seem to have toughened, and, maybe, is gaining valuable experience on the hoof, given that we're not battling for promotion or against relegation. Every result is important, but our league position this season is more or less assured at where we are....allowing him a degree of less pressure.
These days it would be a teenager with a laptop, a mixing desk and samples from artists they'll never be as good as ....
I very much doubt he is the number one choice from the board's point of view, especially after the last managerial appointment fiasco. Saying that if he does well the last few games AND we cannot get the first choice manager we are after (whoever that is) I can see him being given a chance.
So let’s get this right, you are saying if Pep wanted to join us but only wanted a £100,000 a year you wouldn’t have wanted him because he’s cheap?
If it was a choice between him and another, like Beale, it would be daft to ignore him ... ... very difficult all this tbh.
I don't think your original point holds much water TBF... Sometimes a "cheap" option can be the best. How much do you think Potter cost Swansea from Ostersund? What about when Brighton picked up the unemployed De Zerbi? Not saying either Heckingbottom or Dodds are the right option, I'm just saying the logic of "if they're cheap it means the club aren't serious" is wrong. They may simply have identified a candidate they believe in who isn't necessarily the most expensive option
