Had another look at the GN entries this morning. Despite the fact I’d love to see Kitty’s Light run well I’m pretty sure there’ll be no good in the ground description which will scupper him. He’s now generally a 14/1 shot which doesn’t appeal either. The National course is currently soft-heavy in places and plenty more rain forecast in the next week. Could be an absolute gruelling race. So on the basis that the going won’t change much I’ve had an ew speculation on 2 mudlarks, one towards the top of the weights and one towards the bottom. Coko Beach @ 40s and Limerick Lace @ 25s. CB has tried the GN twice and hardly shined but on both occasions ground was to quick for him. All his decent form is on soft-heavy going and although he has a fair amount of weight I can see him running well at good odds. LL won well at Cheltenham in soft conditions and taking stamina on trust for a good showing.

I think it's happened 3 times previously, almost certainly in 2018 and 2021. Would have to check to be sure. Certainly occurring alot more in recent times, deservedly !

The winner capable of being targeted at the likes of a Gold Cup? King George would be tailor made for him giving his usual tendency to jump right.
