funny thing is Huddersfield didn’t play with 10 behind the ball and sit deep, they played ok tbf. Almost like he went back to his miserable and boring style of play, sideways, backwards send everyone to sleep. Second half we were better but we are a miles better team playing with intent and moving the ball quicker but we didn’t do that today unfortunately.
You’re not convinced about Manning.. yet you would have been jumping for joy had we had the run under Nige, under Nige it didn’t ever happen did it.. we did go months and months and months not being able to win at home.. yet you were still convinced!! It was a frustrating day but the championship is full of frustrations..
Absolutely spot on Tom god is what boring watching that. just when you see progress it then disappears again.
Consistency and outwitting and breaking down boring opponents Our manager and players don’t know the meaning of these words
If we all face the facts we know that supporting Bristol City is a frustrating proposition at the best of times but when we rarely hear from the top brass on any occasion it makes me ask as to why the hell we bother. The same old things have been buzzing around Ashton Gate for not just the recent past but rather for several decades and the chance of it ever changing is just about zero and so trying to get the message through all of the bull we hear is slightly less. The incidents of total apathy have been building for years, and continue unabated, and so here we are again back several miles behind the starting line staring at the future without a single clue how to change the fortunes of a club in freefall when it comes down to the basics of running a reasonably professional football team. Mid-table mediocrity is all Lansdown truly wants whilst leaving his son to contribute nothing but dissent and ridiculous statements about nothing that makes any sense to the supporters. Nothing we can say or do will change the mind of a person who lives in a different world than us but still expects us to fork out our hard earned money to support him and his useless efforts to calm the waters. I have no axe to grind with Liam Manning but I feel he is the latest sacrificial lamb being led to the inevitable slaughter and I certainly will never criticize his personal goals by his acceptance of the poisoned chalice that is Bristol City. Is it really too much to ask of our owner to wake up and realize that the club that we all love so much is a major part of our lives, some from the early years of our lives, but what you have allowed to happen has dampened our desire to follow you for much longer as truly we deserve better than you are clearly willing to offer. Shame on you for this continued insult to our intelligence.
Not yet, but he’s only young and been here 5 minutes. Before him we had a highly experienced manager who’d been here 3 years, and he couldn’t crack that either.
Spot on RR I would have been right pissed off had that been given against us.. Having said that, many a time we’ve been robbed by not getting one. That’s not what might send them down. It’s poor results throughout the season..
How many times have we not been given stone wall penalties?, if we had the rub of the green yesterday so be it, it’s about time. If they go down it’ll be because they’ve not got enough points over the whole season, not due to one decision at BS3.
Someone on OTIB managed to capture a still from the game which shows the penalty offence more clearly. Ball hits raised hand in the box. Penalty. Upsetting for them, but fair.
just one of those things, swings and roundabouts lord knows theres a few nailed on calls that we have got the arse end of this season,
Is it? hows is the Huddersfield player making his body unnaturally bigger when the position of their hand/arm is justifiable by, the player’s body movement for that specific situation? Handball law. It is an offence if a player: deliberately touches the ball with their hand/arm, for example moving the hand/arm towards the ball touches the ball with their hand/arm when it has made their body unnaturally bigger. A player is considered to have made their body unnaturally bigger when the position of their hand/arm is not a consequence of, or justifiable by, the player’s body movement for that specific situation. By having their hand/arm in such a position, the player takes a risk of their hand/arm being hit by the ball and being penalised.
I think the only controversy here is the time that the penalty was awarded. Huddersfield fans will be angry, disappointed and pissed off that their delaying, time wasting tactic backfired - and I get that. However, the penalty was genuinely valid. We can argue until the cows come home about the rules and whether they are fair or not, but Welch refereed to the rules. She also had the balls (ahem) to add time on for time wasting. Not many refs with REAL balls would have done that.
The second bullet point is why most defenders put there arms behind there back when they’re blocking a shot , his arm was up making his body wider to block the shot. As for the time of the incident, if they hadn’t wasted time and made a sub in added on time the game would have been finished, they did on both counts and the ref made the correct decision imo
