Club don't listen to fans = Ignorant owner/board Club listen to fans = Owner/board just reacting to fan pressure. Almost like they can't win with some people. Every good business listens to their customers and I applaud SAFC for doing as such. They shouldn't listen to fans for things such as coach appointments and transfers though, recipe for disaster.
They are clearly listening to fan feedback on the match day experience. They should be rightly applauded for that, but it has dragged on a tad too long. That's due no doubt to some contracts ending and some apathy from the board imo. Let's hope this is the start of great things
the hummel stuff has been in the pipe line soon as bruce walked through the door, and the upgrades were always pencilled in for the summer, so saying it's only happening because of fan backlash isn't true, you can praise them now and then you know ,it won't kill you?
Aye been worst kept secret in football. The prototype shirts used to pitch the club were leaked about June/July time. We were all just awaiting confirmation.
Best will in the world, some of the match day experience and off the field stuff has been shambolic. Season cards are still a mess, especially for those that require a non digital option. People are allowed to be concerned
I have long thought Hume would be a very good CB. I know folk think he is too small but I am not so sure. He has tremendous physicality, aggressive 1v1, and reads the ball flight well. If we can get the likes of Ekwah and Bellingham being good set piece defenders we have the height. I see Hume developing into the ball carrying centre back that opens space. He is improving all the time with the ball, and his passing range is getting better every time I see him. I wouldnt rush to buy another CB personally as a result of Seelts injury. If they feel a lack of depth then maybe a loan. But with Ballard and ONien, plus Hume, Alese, Hjelde, Triantis, Johnson we should have the options for me. I would be more concerned about left back as I think we need a proper cover/ replacement for Cirkin. Cirkin is as good a player as anyone in our squad when fit, but his injury record is a concern. For me the summer is about who we let go. It will determine what we do. I am assuming Clarke goes and we will go with Rusyn/Mundle/Watson. That give us money to play with for a CF or preferably 2. I think Neil will be gone sadly, and that leaves a massive hole in midfield. It opens up the option to get an out and out defensive midfielder and give the likes of Rigg/Ekwah/Bellingham licence. Rigg has to come into the middle next year for me and I suspect we will see a more balanced 433 with him and Ekwah just ahead of the CDM. Just thinking aloud how I would tinker with our squad. We have players who can be superstars like Pembele, Rigg, Ballard, Bellingham, Ba, Adil. We just need to refine the style and add a sprinkling here and there.
hes not talking about being concerned he's having a go after something positive has been announced what the to be concerned about that ? but the club actually are doing something decent and the upkeep of the stadium is decent the club get enough **** when it's wrong so why can't the get abit of praise when the get something right?
He believes they are acting to fan pressure, its probably a mixture of both. Yes they deserve big praise and are getting it, but there is more work to do
Don’t think anyone has said “stop that’s it, now that Hummel are in play everything’s resolved” yet mate, definitely more to do and the signs are it will be done.
So was this not part of the 3 point plan on the stadium? Genuinely interested that have they reacted to fan’s requests
the pitch getting done got announced when the actually first fixed the pitch, the said it was only a temporary fix and will need all redone in a couple of years , the 5g was announced last year before all the ' fan pressure and the couldn't of just pulled hummel deal out the bag last couple of weeks because the fans were angry, deals like that go on for months and months. 2026 season kits are probably already getting discussed now, so only leaves the speakers, fan pressure wouldn't of done anything to the last couple of announcements other then potentially SD going
Fair enough, I'm sure he can fight his own battles. I hope they have learned from fan feedback and from this season and everything points to they have, some are a tad more cautious and that's the beauty of football and opinions
Look mate, your 1000% behind the owners, others are more cautious. Both sides are allowed and we all want the same end result
no Youve got that wrong, yes i do like the owners, yes also get why somestuff that have been brought up and i get people's concerns on certain stuff but one thing ill never get is people still looking to bash the club after something positive has happened which is impossible to have happened because of fan pressure, because a lot of it was announced before the fan pressure
This is a new young owner who obviously wants to take Sunderland to the Premier League. (The reasons are absolutely irrelevant.) He'll want to achieve his aims in the shortest possible time because the Championship is an absolute drain on resources. He doesn't need moans from supporters to motivate him into 'getting a move on'. He knows he can only achieve anything with a winning side, careful expert recruitment and development. He knows the support and 'investment' of as many fans as possible is vital whether through attendance, merchandising, football etc. . We all want exactly the same thing, whoever we are. It's just the means needed to achieve it that may not be the same in everyone's minds. KLD has assembled a team of accountants, lawyers, club staff, football staff, etc ... ... no offence to anyone but I'll take his methods over any supporters who think they know better.
There's fan pressure at every club. Mansfield fans were fighting amongst themselves, and screaming at the dugout, when they went 1-0 down today. Posting on forums doesn't compare to half the ground walking out after the Blackburn's third goal. The club know they're under pressure, simple as that.
Fair points and I'm sure Bob will answer them in his way. There's still a few things to sort, cards being the biggest one, but let's see where the summer takes us
