I can edit and change the post for you if it makes you any happier ? From my neck of the woods we have always referred to the race at Aintree as the English Grand National or English National, I've never really thought of it too much to be honest.
That's OK, STH, that is not necessary. Guess living abroad all these years but always hanging-on to my British passport had made me too nationalistic. Forget it, seems I caused a minor "storm in a teacup"? Not on purpose, though.
Couldn't have the winner with his tendency to jump right so much, but great ride by Townend, as easy a National winner you'll see in one of the best ever renewals I would say? The amount of high class horses in the field there behind him was rather impressive.
I Am Maximus jumped much straighter today. He almost always veers right, which is why Fairyhouse suits him so well. They'd obviously been working very hard in training on that. He was perfectly positioned on the inside to counteract any potential errors but it was never needed. Credit to all involved ironing that out of him.
