We have been poor for a while, struggled to beat Sheffield at home, scraped a draw against a poor United team, fair play to Atalanta, they were better than us all over the pitch and deserved to win
I've said often that I hate wholesale changes - doesn't really matter about the relative quality of players you bring in, it just disrupts the rhythm.
3rd and a lesgue cup then. if we can get a few more league results thst is. not too shabby but simply put too many half fit players and no ideas. endo looked absolutely awful tonight. slow as slow can be. tsimikas has hardly played and it showed Jones was injure and didn't play Szoboszlai is out of position and out of form and gifted a goal. vvd has no excuse.on every goal he was ****. First two simply wouldn't engage wide. third he played all onside ball watching. tactically ****. if you want 12 down thr width of the 18 uesrd box so 4 players can close it down then we played perfect.
Well that was a disgrace. Not even a consolation goal to have a go at the away leg. Might as well sack off the return and concentrate on the remaining league games.
klopps going out with a whimper. it's that simple. too many out of form, out of shape and out of confidence. 3rd is inbound. I'd take that now even with the gap we have as frankly we we have to dig in and fight to get the points each week now. too.many passing when they should shoot, shooting with no right to. quality of final ball is terrible. midfielders look jaded totally. salah can't run. he's a shadow of the player that went to acon endo can't run looks all out. klopp keeps thinking Robertson can't play for some reason then sees the error he's made then rinses and repeats. it's just blown up and that is that.
With 6 games in 16 days, think Klopp was entitled to rotate players. Had they gone in shattered on Sunday against Palace (they probably still will now) we would have asked why Jurgen didn't rotate against Atlanta. Nah, the key again was that Darwin missed another ****ing sitter, Elliott had wretched luck, the defence was all over the show (with our two first-choice CB's as well) and our midfield was just simply outmuscled, like big blousy girls. Season is ****ing unravelling, and it's 90% down to having 4 forwards who are better at making chances than scoring them.
Well that wasn't the expected result. Poor performance all round. Wrong starting 11 and no energy from the substitutes which is the reverse of what we usually do. We beat them 5-0 last time we played at their place. Same again please.
Hard to think of that many games since New Year when we've really played well, tired or not. Chelsea at home? Struggling after that. City in the 2nd half - but that again exemplified our inability to convert chances. When Macca is allowed to play and plays well we're better (but still have that weakness of chance conversion), but when he doesn't tick we're utterly turgid.
Nothing like 1 defeat to send everyone into meltdown. I do wonder if people would be the same every week if we were as bad as Everton for example or would people be more accepting as we would lose more often?
Sometimes **** happens. If that Elliott chance goes in, it's a totally different game. We'd only lose 1-3
We've done well to be where we are. We've battled well, but there are gaps in the side that are bound to show through. The front three are nowhere near what they where. Diaz is average, salahs age is showing more and more. Darwin, oh Darwin how I love you, but god you make it difficult. Mac looks outstanding. Slob after a quick start has run out off gas. Endo. Done well for what he is. The team We've got, should be considered underdogs, plucky fighters, but we act like we should be walking over teams.
