I find Gorillas quite fascinating in their interactions with humans, which is quite different to my thoughts on Chimps, who I don't trust, I see Chimps more like human behaviour (horrible shhites) but gorillas I see as intelligent but in a kind way, but maybe that's just the way I like to perceive the latter, probably because I've watched too many Freya Aspinall videos and interactions. Anyway I came across this video today and had never heard of Koko before, an ape that knew sign language, so while I disagree with the confined environment, I found the gorilla as always intriguing... Chimps are bastards. Easy to see where war came from. Chimp troops will fight and kill other chimp troops members for territory.

I still remember that woman who had her face ripped off by a Chimp, I think that might have been in America. From memory I think she was a friend of the owner of the Chimp, don't think the owner was there when she turned up that day, but she had done something that made the Chimp jealous, my brain is telling me something to do witth maybe a cuddly toy? Probably wrong, my brain just makes stuff up sometimes lol. Fooking hate them, nasty little fookers, BUT the Chimp should never have been kept as a pet anyway or member of the family as these idiots see them. At least with a Silverback you know exactly where you stand if you piss it off and neeed to know the signs if he's in a bad mood, you just keep your head down and remember he's the big boss and all the other gorillas fall in line, will probably be all his females. .Any food always belongs to him...
Then there are the bonobos, so closely related to chimps but the peace loving hippies of the ape world. And the Bili chimpanzees, despite being enormous, by all reports are a lot less aggressive than most chimps.
I've seen numerous examples of gorillas doing this, all with subtle movements of the hand to swipe, although I remember one particular example where visitors were asked not to do it, because it was having an affect on the gorilla well-being in his/her confine....
