After such a brilliant first half we should have been out of sight, to compound it we don’t show up (with the exception of Sainz and Nunez) for the second half, second best to everything. Saturday took a lot out of them which is why I’m suprised there wasn’t a couple more changes. Mind you the subs did nothing, Gibbs injury not his fault but completely the wrong game for Fassnacht as he was anonymous. Barnes poses absolutely no threat as a lone striker, I don’t know how many times we have lost by putting him up there in his own. We’ve played 3 games in a week and we have Van Hooijdonk on the bench who can’t get a kick but we leave the 34 year old support striker on? Baffling! If not he could have used Aboh to stretch their back line. Just when you think Wagner has erased the doubts, he competely mismanages a half of football like that.
Apparently the Duffy change was registered before the corner for the second goal, so it had to take place after it. Hellishly disappointing because we would have gone up to 5th had we won, but at least Coventry lost and we now have a 5 point lead over them and Preston who beat Huddersfield.
