Heres an interesting thought, or maybe it's just interesting to me. Where do you think we would finish this season with our Championship promotion winning squad from 2011/12? (at the age they were then, not now). I feel like it was a far stronger team and squad, but the compeition in the Championship was much less intense so it's hard to really say.
Well we had much better strikers for a start plus we had Twat beard. The thing is though how many of that squad would be able to play Russball?.

Any tactic where you take more risk in defence than you do in the attacking third is never going to be sustainable unless you attack with intent once you beat the press. It is funny how the derision from the football snobs that was evident in the first 6 months has suddenly disappeared. Where the know it alls now? Tell me that I am wrong and it is the only way to play? Millwall just ****housed us and we just tippy tapped our way to nowhere. Sick of seeing this bollocks. Bar for the odd game this season, it has given me no joy at all. I am all for dominating with the ball but this football is not dominating anything. We have 2 full backs who would have a field day if they were allowed to overlap and be higher up the pitch but instead one goes into a defensive midfield position and the other barely gets past the halfway line and if he does he the turns 99% of the time and passes back. Posted on FoxesTalk by one of the Leicester fans. Doesn’t sound similar at all does it?
Yeah, I did think this when the accusation that we were trying to reinvent football was running the other day. We actually play very similar football to Leicester (and it annoys their fans too).
Think I wrote here before, had a coach once who installed in us never to take risks in defence, occasionally take risks in midfield, always take risks in forward areas. We won the mighty Cadastrian League! Andy Hinchcliffe (so much better than Callagher) describes fannying around in ones own penalty area "high risk for low gain" I couldn't agree more.
‘High risk, low gain’ is so bang on it hurts. Sometimes really question the players decision making when they not only play the backward pass, but they play it when it isn’t even as safe as the forward option.
Would we have won more games this season going 4-4-****ing-2 and playing to our teams strengths instead of passing it around in our own box? I really like the thought of Charles/Downes being solid in midfield with KWP/Manning marauding forward and Che/Arma up top. Especially against weaker teams. Esepecially with our pacey wingers. I guess we’ll never know
Reference the Wilcox situation and United’s apparent urgency to get him in, any chance we can keep batting them away until the next transfer window shuts?
Damn, I was just going to say "proper stripes, I love it". Although, after a closer inspection it does look like it's got a pair of waistcoat style pockets from the front.
