Even the best teams lose once in a while.
We had a rare off day and didnt show up.
And tbh tactically I think Wagner out thought KM.

The Wagner out coaching McKenna is a good take here. I think he certainly studied how teams like West Brom and Leeds set up against us in their home games. Press when you need to, keep players behind the ball when we pass up the pitch, and man mark our wide players out the game. Saying that, Davis has a quirk of being left free but looked a little bit off it for the first hour. We just couldn’t get any rhythm going and it didn’t help the occasion was getting to players like Morsy and Burgess, who couldn’t seem to pick a long pass out.

I think most of the team played the occasion and several had an off day. Clarke is much better than Tuanzebe at linking up with Burns or Hutch.

Lets hope we dont play them in the play offs!

Looking at the run-in, I think we have a slightly harder run in. Depends on results, but we’ve got in-form Watford and then potentially got consecutive games against Middlesbrough, Coventry, and Hull all in the play off hunt. Hopefully Huddersfield are safe by the time we play them too.

Leeds have a match against a Sunderland side whose season is pretty much over. Blackburn have potential relegation to fight, so should be up for that. An away trip to potential play off chasing Middlesbrough will be tough, as will an away trip to QPR after if they need a result to avoid relegation. That last match of the season against Southampton is a bit misleading - wouldn’t be surprised if they go easy/rest players for the play offs, as they’re pretty much guaranteed 4th.

Teams battling for play offs, relegation avoidance and the autos, no easy games, when you’ve been sniffing around the autos you’re there to be shot down. Leicester held their nerve today, Ipswich, Leeds and Southampton never. There will be more twists and turns before the end

Coventry did us a massive favour today. Can’t count on any more down the stretch. 2 home games coming up, extra days break before we play but then we have a day less recovery before Saturday. Think there may be changes with Taylor and Clarke pushing for starts. Regarding us playing a midweek home game on a Wednesday rather than a Tuesday - anyone know why?

I don’t think it was anything much to do with tactics. Norwich mostly found their passes and we rarely did.

I don’t know, Norwich definitely seemed really well organised and coached defensively. We didn’t have a shot until the 63rd minute. That’s not through luck or wayward passing - that’s an opposition playing out a great game plan against the highest scorers in the league. Not to mention they bullied Broadhead, Chaplin, and Hutchinson. I find Broadhead and Chaplin in particular struggle more against defenders who get more physical with them.

Also, as an aside, I’ve seen our away fans are getting some stick online for poor atmosphere during the game. Apparently a quarter of our away tickets went to guests, sponsors, and club staff friends - according to TWTD. If that’s true, would go a long way to explaining the flat away atmosphere, which might’ve had an impact on the game.

Norwich didn’t have some great game plan, they were pretty poor and didn’t pose much of a threat compared with many other sides we’ve played - but we were poorer. We were that bad that we could have easily had nine men by the end.

I was in the away end. The flat atmosphere in our end for much of the game - especially second half - was down to the pathetic performance not the other way around. It’s also a terrible ground for atmosphere anyway. They don’t give much of an allocation and there’s a bloody great hotel next to the away end.

Well, agree to disagree - but defensively, I definitely thought they had something to restrict us and contribute to how badly we played.

Is this breaking news that Hampy is indeed a “friend of the club”? :emoticon-0104-surpr

Well as the dust settles it's as it was.
Title in Leicester's hands, automatic in ours.

1 game closer to the line.

Even Burgess was awful today. I don’t think there’s much accounting for it, we were just off our game. The only thing I really think we could do better is the mentality - the ‘same as any other game’ narrative. If we go into every derby like that and Norwich treat it like a cup final then we’ll keep coming away with nothing to show.
