Without the creativity of S Armstrong and the focal point of Adams we have less cutting edge than usual.

 

Russell has obviously told the team to try not to take the lead too early.

Just my pennies worth but...

You need to get two full backs on the pitch. So bring Manning on for one of your three centre halves. Then get Armstrong out of the middle and onto one of the flanks. I'd say pull him onto the right, take Brooks off and get Che through the middle so we don't get so utterly bullied physically. Might have half a chance of holding the ball in the final third then.

 

Lots of fouls in the midfield by Blackburn I think a card was warranted at some point.

 

that was a really poor half, no ambition to take anyone on just lifeless backwards football.

 

Who knew that we need a 9 with a physical presence, and that Adarma through the middle doesn’t work. Oh…

 

I think Chilco has identified Russ' tactics - we're poor at keeping a lead, so let's wait until the third minute of added time before scoring. We'd still manage to give it away, after the soup course during the post-match meal
