Robertson and Gomez staying back at corners so that we have the pace to deal with the counter. Don't put Endo there.
Well if Elliott headed back in even rather than let it bounce we would be OK and still in the fa Cup. This is where klopp is too honest and we miss fabinho and milner. Snide pro foul to shut that break before it starts.
I think we foul too often at the moment and give away silly free kicks. Great to do it when needed and to stop breaks but it's a general bad habit we have at this point.
If Endo is back and Robbo has to start, where are you going to put Gomez? He has been solid enough but he lost the ball too easily going forward last night and it left us wide open at the back. Back four for me Bradley VVD Konate if fit and Robbo
I'd put him RB and restrict him coming forward too much. He's not great on the ball, the pass is always a bit ahead or a bit behind and it kills the move at times.
keep him as far from shooting as possible. Getting a bit sick of the crowd screaming shoot at him or szobo at this point. there was one he should 100% have passed on and shot with his left last night that was a joke. we can do a job with joe locking down the right side on sunday. I wouldn't mind bradley but the reality is if we play both wide full backs we will probably have too many overloads. Ithink we need to be very aware of utd's dange ron the counter and plan for it but b aware of thier low block and looking for that ocunter so we need better movement and penetration and risk taking from the forwards.
100% this. We will get the low block and counter all day on Sunday. Tricky match but another must win for us
And yeah the Gomez goal thing is so boring. Why does the world need reminding every 6 minutes that he hasn’t scored a goal?
They'll have two lines; defence and attack. They'll put their two wide players as far forward as they can with the rest of the team defending before hitting the channels
CHRIS SUTTON'S PREDICTION.COMFORTABLE AWAY WIN. Man Utd v Liverpool (15:30) You really cannot deny that Manchester United seem to up their game when they face Liverpool, which would make me really angry if I were a United fan. How about playing like that in a few other games? I was at Stamford Bridge for Manchester United's last-gasp defeat by Chelsea on Thursday and heard their manager Erik ten Hag talk afterwards about how his side are making progress. I just don't see it that way. Alejandro Garnacho really impressed me at Stamford Bridge but I worry about United defensively. With what is at stake for Liverpool now, I don't see United keeping them out. It won't be a runaway victory but my feeling is it is going to be third time lucky for Jurgen Klopp's side against United this season, after a draw and a defeat in their first two meetings. Sutton's prediction: 1-3 Luke's prediction: This could be anything. It could be another 0-0 draw, a United win like in the FA Cup... or 7-0 to Liverpool again. I really hope we get something, but I'm not too confident. 1-1 Nathan's prediction: I think we are going to get smashed. I hope I'm wrong but I think it could turn out to be an embarrassment. As much as I'd love to beat them, I think they are going to be fired up after the way we beat them in the FA Cup, which was one of the best games I've seen in a long time. Because of that and the injuries we've got, I am really worried. I was at Old Trafford in 2021 when they beat us 5-0 after being 4-0 up at half-time and I have got an awful feeling the same will happen again. 1-5 Luke's title prediction: Liverpool Nathan's title prediction: Oh no! I'd rather City won it, which is saying a lot, but I think it's going to be Liverpool. Nathan on United's hopes of making next season's Champions League: They are gone, well and truly! Luke on United's season: If we do get our hands on the FA Cup it would be another trophy for Erik ten Hag, and it would help him keep hold of his job. Nathan: I think it would go down as a poor season even if we win that. A lot of our performances have been absolutely dreadful. I know we've had injuries, but so has everyone else. Luke: That's true. Even in the Champions League, there were some silly results that meant we ended up bottom of one of the easier groups. Like being beaten 4-3 or FC Copenhagen or going 2-0 up at Galatasaray and drawing. That is what has cost us. JONES KNOWS BEST PREDICTION ALSO AWAY WIN. Manchester United vs Liverpool, Sunday 3.30pm, live on Sky Sports - PLAY SUPER 6 HERE! All you need to know - Streaming with NOW Live football on Sky Sports this week | Stream the Premier League and more with NOW Someone is going to give Manchester United a good spanking before the season is out. Step forward Liverpool? United could be without four senior central defenders through injury, meaning Harry Maguire and Willy Kambwala, protected by the clunky Casemiro, could be the resistance United offer up to a Liverpool attack that has scored three or more goals in seven of their last 11 Premier League games. United are heading into battle with a shield made of poppadums and an underlying process which is becoming quite laughable. Image:Man Utd vs Liverpool, live this Sunday. Kick-off at 15:30 They have faced the most shots in the Premier League in 2024 (225) - it's also the most shots faced of any team in Europe's major leagues. The corners conceded numbers also remain out of control, shipping 101 in their last 10 Premier League games - again, the most of any Premier League team. For context, Liverpool have conceded just 34 in their last 11 games. The markets have finally reacted to these numbers with the Liverpool corner line set at eight or more here at 5/4 with Sky Bet which is a little shorter than ideal but still should be a bet that lands in what could be a landslide of an away win. SCORE PREDICTION: 1-6
Man utd have now played 8 games in the superleague scum mini league (whi for this seaosn only includes newcaslte) and conceded 16 goals. so 2 goals per game. the have scored 8. LFC have played 10 of these games and scored 11 and conceded 8. If anyone wants a bet on this game and can't brin themselves to bet on a draw then put your money on Utd 1 - LFC 2. LFC record v the top half in general is played 14, won 6, drawn 6 lost 2. With 1.86 goals per games scored and worryingly 1.3 conceded. My personal opinion is LFC need 3 goals to win this game and we will ought up many chances as we play a certain way they drives players to converge on the ball so the midfield can be bypassed. We REALLY should be beating this lot given their issues but you just have to look at our deficits in defence.
