Monday night was a night of pure mixed emotions for me. My wife is a huge Saints fan in fact her whole family are excluding my lads who I somehow brain washed into supporting Ipswich. Been to many Saints games and I do have a soft spot for you although my life is being mad a living nightmare right now! So please please please please I implore you to get promoted this year and come up with us!!!
Reading around the place, many Ipswich fans are saying we are the best team to come to Portman Rd this season. And this isn't an uncommon theme - heard similar from other top half teams when we had played them. I find this all the more frustrating as what they're referring to is our control of the game, possession and probably squandered shots. Our control of the game doesn't extend to stopping the opposition being clinical and taking their fewer in number chances. And from as we see it the potential with an effective striker and more clinical play in the final third is huge. Yet we flatter to deceive. I find this so much more infuriating than being on the back foot all game and losing where my expectations would at least be more aligned with the outcome. Nightmare being a Saints fan!
Quite right. Saints is a great team if we could only master scoring and defence Joking aside, I do think we are a nice side…some luck would be nice. We seemed to have used that up earlier in the season.
Just caught up & listened to TSP271. Said many times before, great listen & they offer a really good alternative viewpoint & with AlfieH some additional “inside” info. They definitely don’t hold back when criticism is “due” but are constructive also. Being a pod they have to be careful what they say, so no ott crap, which irkes a lot of you! I know some on here listen but I get the impression it’s only a few? Maybe I’m wrong - I’d be interested to hear who actually does? I’m going to post this on the Blackburn thread as well. Of course the bosses can delete/move if they feel not relevant.
