I never got there today and gave my ticket to my father in law, he text saying the atmosphere wasn’t good and a lot of booing, how bad was it ? Who was it aimed at ?? I can’t understand booing the players though

It was quiet and fairly tense.

I don't believe any booing was at the players more frustration at the situation.

No doubt this will be shot down in flames by certain people, but there is a real frustration in the crowd

Didn't say he wasn't mate. But to rip up the "model" we've been going down would be daft imo.

If someone could name someone who would come and do a better job than KS (I don't know either) be my guest. But to rip it up and start again is mental

Last time I checked it wasn't my job to find a director of football, whoever if I could have my pick then Dan Ashworth would be nice

It just needs tweaking. I’ve got nothing against the idea of signing young prospects, developing them and selling some for a profit. We need to do that to be self sustaining.

However, we are desperate for some experience in the spine of the team. Dan Neil is having to do the work of 2 midfielders when Ekwah has a game like today and up front we all know we are massively lacking a proven striker.

I also think we need to ditch the idea of automatically only offering **** contracts to the older players.

I know it's not your job mate.
I just keep hearing people shouting to sack the coach, sack the DoF, sack the board etc.
I was just hopeful that you had someone in mind.
    Ashworth, yeah, but not realistic.
Anyway enjoy the rest of your night and roll on Saturday

Let's not kid ourselves on, the behaviour of supporters towards Beale was absolutely disgusting and made it impossible for him. Never gave him a chance and judging by results since he left there are bigger issues at club.

Mate, best will in the world this season hasn't been great and changes are clearly needed. We have had 3 head coaches and all 3 said we need experience, that lies with the DOF and the board.

People are allowed to say that and not have a replacement, after all that why we are on here and nor running the club.

    Can go one of a few ways;

Appoint someone from a lesser role at a club higher up the food chain and promote them. Norwich did this by appointing Arsenals loan manager I believe.

Appoint someone from lower down the leagues. Someone like Richard Hughes at Portsmouth for example would be a good appointment.

Other routes could be an ex player, promoting Harvey, going foreign.

Whatever we decide, it has to be someone with a flexible and bulletproof plan. They have to implement a style of play and then recruit the coach and players around that. That style of plan then has to be played throughout the club to create a conveyor-belt style of academy production of players who can fit automatically into the first team.

Just a side note, watching the Ipswich Southampton game, just been said that Jason Wilcox, Southamptons DoF, is being poached by Man Utd.

People saying it’s simple. It’s really not simple … balancing income and expenditure in the face of competition and high expectation. Bringing through emerging players while fans demand experience. Bringing in coaches with experience who people hate because of his history before a ball is kicked. Leading Sunderland to success is not simple. We have amazing noisy fans at games, a great training ground and a big stadium. The rest is a tough context so we need to ride a few errors. This season there have been a good few like but we’re not a million miles away.

Don't disagree mate. I just thought that you would have had someone in mind and I was hoping to have a positive chat about alternatives.
Anyway, my lads back in from the match so dinner time.
