Found a weird looking bag under a bed in a seedy hotel room in Ibiza back in my youth and handed it in to reception . Apparently there was 3K worth of Blow inside and we never got as much as thank you off the Spanish old bill
Most of them have rotted to bits from the fuel cap outwards haha! Worth a small fortune now though! Nothing like the rs cosworth though!
Feels kind of wrong for liking your post, GT, but resonate with your post. My Dad died at aged 39 also, in 1978, it was his birthday 2 days ago, 30 March, he would have been 85. He has been gone longer than he lived, can’t help always thinking what if, how much he has missed, what would he think. You’ve got my tears flowing again, sincere condolences GT.
Don't look back in anger, as someone said. But some things. Not taking a job offer in the 1980s, it was in Zimbabwe but was a foot in the door opportunity that would have changed my life completely.
Not doing better at school, I had no idea what I wanted to do when I was at school, so just went with the minimal options, mechanic or like most of my family, a farmer. Dropped French in 3rd year as I didn’t think I’d be going there, of course, years later I did. Not doing the things young people do, like going abroad & doing things then that I’d like to do now. When I worked on ships, getting pissed regularly on vacation, in Scarborough, instead of going away & getting the chance to travel round the US or other countries. Not going to more gig’s when I was younger & prices were more reasonable. I hate Ticket Master! I’m sure there’s plenty more things, but can’t think of any right now, other than going to watch City last Friday!
Thinking back now I could have been wearing a big red clowns nose and massive clown shoes as opposed to the wife’s wedding shoes which incidentally she didn’t even ****ing wear in the end. My calves are ruined.
