Prior to their home defeat, against I[pswich, I'd have said the same.

But after us they have Southampton at home then two difficult away games at Bristol and Leeds.

I think they'll see us as their best chance of three points they desperately need.

    Blackburn 39 -14 42
    Plymouth 39 -9 41
    Birmingham 39 -18 39

    Huddersfield 39 -21 39
    Sheff Wed 39 -31 39
    Rotherham 39 -50 20

Blackburn aren't very good at parking the bus
65 goals conceded this season - only Rotherham have conceded more.

I thought Blackburn were a decent side even when we won there earlier in the season, I'm surprised to see them struggling so much, especially given Smodzics.

We've got a bit of confidence back though and if we start well we will be comfortable.

    3-1 Jobe hat-trick.

I reckon this will be a very tight game, but we just need to stick to the way we can play - which we did very well on Friday - and we’ll come out on top second half.

Jobe has to start up front as the 9. That has to be his position going forwards.. I hope.

    1:1 at the break
3:1 to the lads come full time

Thanks once again RTB for a brilliant thread. Hopefully the lads have gained more confidence from the victory at Cardiff. No changes for me from the starting 11 unless for injury. Tight game but I just fancy us to get the win. Keep the faith lads and lasses.

I'd give him a half. Whether that's from the start or otherwise would be up to how well the lads have recovered from Friday.

There's no need to rush him back.

Think this will be a tight game myself. I am not so sure who their manager was when they played the scum but gave them a really good game and took them all the way to pens. Szmodics is a worry but hopefully with confidence we can edge it. I think Alese and Roberts could be the difference later on.Firts time in a while I am really looking forward to this one.

Hoping we start with the same team today, think it’s our best setup considering our injuries.

SUNDERLAND will go in search of back-to-back wins for the first time in 2024 when they face Blackburn Rovers at the Stadium of Light this afternoon, but interim head coach Mike Dodds has again reiterated the need for caution regarding the return of a number of injured players….

"Corry is desperate to be involved but you have to make decisions that, right now, certain players probably won’t understand," said Dodds. "From a duty of care perspective you have to make those decisions.

"Corry has been out for 13 months, he’s training really well, he’s a huge part of the dressing room – hence why I asked him to travel (to Cardiff) - but he’s also only played two 45 minutes in Under-21s football. So there has to be a level of patience with that, same with Patrick.

"Pat hasn’t played any minutes, he’s been out for a period of time, he’s only had one week back in training and Aji has only played 45 minutes for the 21s. They’re training, they’re part of the group, but I’ve got to make sure I get my bit right in terms of when and where do we introduce them?

"Corry is in contention, we made him 19th man in the squad (at Cardiff) and going forward, all of those players will be in contention."

Sunderland (probable, 4-2-3-1): Patterson; Hume, O'Nien, Ballard, Styles; Neil, Ekwah; Rigg, Aouchiche, Ba; Bellingham.

Hemir is the new Altidore. If he ever scores it'll probably bounce off his arse while he's not looking.
