Can someone tell RTG that Nixon is miles off with Hecky at the min. I'm not on there and will never go back
I would if I was on there but I only lurk, some of them read this forum and no doubt it'll appear on there sometime. your name usually pops up now and then
So much so went to a talk in with Bruce & Quinn at Rainton, Bruce even said he was overwhelmed with them welcome & backing he had received especially with his routes....only turned nasty as we failed to win a game for 3 months two seasons in a row...abuse was a stick to him camel with nothing more... stupidity the way Bruce made it more & was hated for his routes....given there is a statue outside ground of a Geordie ffs
I was at that Wigan game with my then 12 year old daughter. It was an awful atmosphere for a young girl to be in.
I was also at that game, with my then 11 year old son and I just remember it been a very poor game. I've just asked my son and he has no particular memory of the game and yes I did sing get out of our club as I was walking down the steps at full time. Perhaps its like the song and "it's different for girl's" Given the run of results over two seasons I thought, we, as supporters, were more than patient.
Imagine if Adil keeps getting game time and improves in to the player he looks like he could be, Jobe ends up being the no9 we've been missing, Ba ends up being coached in to the final decision that his game lacks, these could be 3 massive players for us next season, the players people have criticised, the season that people have said is a complete waste. That we've gone backwards, signing these cheap foreign youngsters. If they progress next season along with Rigg becoming a first team regular because of the minutes he's had. This season going the way it's gone may turn out to be a blessing. Yes it hasn't gone anything like anyone would have wanted, however it could have been the season which is part of our development. In this process every season isn't going to be huge steps forward every time. Some seasons we may need to take one step back to take 3 forward the following. The players we signed in the summer were never going to be championship ready this season, if by the end of next season 5 are that's progress , just not as instant as some want.
That's exactly the point. It's a longer term strategy. You can't just spend, rules stop it. If we go up, still can't really spend, or not enough to really compete. We need to take a couple of years to get the structure right, be patient with some good youngsters. We're on a good path
Spot on I get frustrated like everyone does when we have a few bad results and think we need to change things its not working. I understand people wanting a quicker fix. But thinking back to the seasons we have had since we got relegated from the Prem all in all the last couple of years have been a breath of fresh air Personally I'm really enjoying the journey.
If Burstow had been an Amad level loan it would be very different. It’s fine margins. I think they thought he’d be ready to step up. Mind so did the obsessive Chelsea fan I know.
It's absolutely staggering that a lad can so readily throw away an entire season of his career ... ... I loved every minute of playing Sunday League and would come off battered, bruised and shattered. I've never seen Burstow break sweat, it would take me til Wednesday to be able to walk properly. I f*cken despair.
Statue of a Geordie outside the stadium. His argument holds zero water and he still moans about it today. I remember the season before he left, and this may sound silly me remembering this, but we never won one game while we used the yellow winter ball. First game in March using the white ball we ended up stuffing a team 3 or 4 nill and Bruce himself even mentioned the yellow ball. We went through some horrible slumps under him and the team became toothless under him. Yes the game where some sections were singing they wanted him out, he was a Geordie this and that etc did happen, but that was one game and not the reason the club pulled the trigger. For a man of his age to still blame that one game and how every chance he gets he has a dig a us by saying the 2 biggest clubs he ever managed was Newcastle and Villa is quite frankly pathetic. And I'm pretty sure he was never on the winning end against the mags? We can make assumptions too.
We have the nuclearus of a decent team if we can keep the right ones and bring in a few more of that calibre.
Out of the relegated sides I'd say we have more players who'll play at the top level than any other team. I didn't see a single Cardiff players I'd have at the club tbh. That goes for most of the teams I've seen this season.
Burstow only seems to break into a sprint when there’s no one around. Useless waste of energy but does a few sprints to make it look like he puts himself about. He doesn’t have that striker instinct to me, at least Rusyn (and even Hemir sometimes) looks to play on the shoulder and will make runs away from a CB. Burstow never does. So I don’t even know what he’s meant to be good at or what position he’s meant to be. Amazing that we went from one extreme in Amad (a superb loan) to the other extreme in Burstow (an awful loan) in one season.
I always refer back to Dean Windass with young centre forwards ... ... a centre forward of limited grace but carved out a good career by being a CH's nightmare.
Spot on, no striker's instincts and no graft to make up for it. One of the major sources of frustration this season for me has been how much game time he's had when your average casual observer could tell after his first couple of games he was useless. Why people who are professional coaches kept playing him ahead of Rusyn and Hemir is beyond me. Rusyn especially, at least he works hard and has a shot when he gets a chance.
Perhaps being allowed to take Diallo and Burstow, on loan, is committing to a certain amount of games.
