Steve Bruce must be one of our longest serving managers in the last 20 years? He wasn't hounded out from day 1!
Steve Bruce was given every chance played good football for first few months then did what Bruce always does Runs out of ideas Yea he got stick in the end but his tenure was not remotely like Beales Beale was dreadful from day one players were a shadow of themselves tactics were non existent he sucked the life out of the club
Steve Bruce was supported all the way up to the Wigan game, FACT. Beale is the only manager in recent memory who was universally disliked.
Un inspired out of work ****e, on par with Beale. Lessons obviously not learned from Beale, IF it’s true.
Yeah, Bruce was accepted with open arms and actually incredibly popular for a long period. He put together a smashing team, then sadly couldn’t maintain or grow it. Heckingbottom would be a shocking move, again.
Even to this day I associate Bruce with Man Utd rather than Newcastle so the Geordie roots thing was always rubbish to me. That said, I've enjoyed calling him a fat Geordie bastard many times
Don't know loads about Heckingbottom. Any particular reason we don't like him? Apart from his ridiculous name.
I have mentioned him on here before. Still surprised he doesn't have it already. Would imagine he would crawl through fire for it TBH. Wouldn't be the most inspiring like but would definitely set some standards.
Would imagine he is just one under consideration. I don't know before anyone asks. Just my opinion. But you raise a good point unless they do want to stick to what they said re Dodds when he was appointed. See if our the go again.
He's a good lad, I think he came up through our academy. As a manager I'd say he's a safe pair of hands. Leeds fans saw him as a bit dull, no plan b, bit of a yes man Sheff United fans liked him a bit better If we do get him, I'm waiting to see how KS dresses it up. He's liable to say he's got us a Rolls Royce of a manager rather than the Vauxhall Vectra he actually is.
Nailed on he’s spotted tomorrow now I’ve opened my mouth haha don’t really have an opinion on him if he was to come in, his sheff United side were decent last year no one would have faired better this season with them either
I can imagine Nixon (and similar) knowing that we'd spoken to someone as part of the process, but I don't believe he'd have a clue about who else we're talking to or how we prioritise them.
He was managing in the Prem this season. He comes across really well and has loads of experience. I think he's a really good shout. Also think his personality would fit in well up here I'd much rather him than Still or the other unknowns across Europe.
