Maresca has hopefully taken in that defensively we would get battered in the Prem with those players ...

The Mavididi goal alone, was worth the trip to Stamford Bridge. Wild scenes in the away end will stay with me for a long time.

It's a shame we conceded late goals (again) especially the 4th, but that said, I think we would have got battered in extra time.

I'm sorry, but I really don't get the amount of love KDH gets. I thought he was quite poor yesterday, but according to a lot of reports he was our best player! so I guess it must be me <laugh>

I think he keeps hold of the ball far too long and when he actually runs forward with it, he always stops, does a little circle then plays the ball backwards!
Apart from his goal, I didn't think Mavididi was in the game at all.
I thought Wilf was our best player, we just need to get him fully fit.
I also thought Daka did well, closing people down and kept running, but again according to social media, he needs to be shot!!!!

Anyway, now we must sort ourselves out and concentrate on finishing in the top 2.

That's my whole point about KDH playing too high up the pitch. We needed 3 midfielders behind the ball so that Choudhury wasn't pulled out of position to cover that hole. I'm still not sure whether we were supposed to be playing a back 3 or back 4. Either way it didn't work.

We've had the problem of not being able to play the right final ball all season and, when we do, the chances aren't being put away. If we are constantly conceding 2 or 3 then the need to score goals is paramount. If we stay tight and don't concede then we should have a better chance of managing 1 or 2 if necessary.

Agreed that we are a good Championship side, or at least we have been at times. By now we should be perfecting the process we started at the beginning of the season ready for the step up next season, but opponents have worked us out and the system is starting to look very fragile. By Championship standards we have the most talented group of players, particularly when we have them all fit. However, some blame has to lie with the players. We have consistently missed chances at one end and gifted goals at the other. But the manager/head coach has to take equal responsibility for his poor decision making and game management.

Watched on the telly ...KDH was really good tbf ... repeatedly taking the ball in tight situations and bombing on leaving several Chelsea players in his wake - apart from the marvellous goal Mavididi was rather anonymous ... KDH and Fatawu were our most creative...

The problem however is defending - quick players will expose a Faes / Vestergaard partnership all the time - and we really needed JJs pace to help bail them out yesterday rather than Doyle's left peg ...

Vestergaard has had an excellent season but we need a more mobile player if we do go up ...

We're missing Pereira's nous, agility and creativity badly ... Hamza is a great utility option but not a starter ...

I also felt we'd more or less given up on winning in open play with the substitutions made ... particularly taking off the two wingers- that was just inviting what eventually transpired ...

You’re right there. I know all teams have their ups and downs but it seems we’ve gone fron the highest of highs to the lowest of lows in recent years. I was going to put a timeline on here years ago about the emotional journey we’ve been on as fans in the last 20 years, but as each season goes by something new seems to happen. I was going to start at the 1990/91 season when we survived the drop to the 3rd tier on the last day of the season, moving forward from there we had 3 play off finals in three years, two managers being poached in two years, the Martin O’Neill era, La Manga, administration, relegation to the third tier, the Watford play off finale, the great escape, winning the Premier League, quarterfinals of the Champions League, the death of the chairman, winning the FA cup, relegation and now administration again. Not to mention Peter Taylor’s disastrous time in charge, and the gang of four’s attempt to take over the club.
Feel free to add anything I missed. Being a Leicester fan never seems to be dull, wouldn’t swap it for anything.

All this financial fair play malarkey does is ensure that the richest backed clubs with the sharpest accountants and lawyers will continue to dominate football in this country and in particular the Premier League. Clubs at the lower end, who start to try and build a team just to stay in the top flight will continue to end up having to sell their best players if it all goes wrong and becomes unsustainable, and they will end up worse off than they were before they started. We might as well resign ourselves to the fact that there will be no change to the top of the Premier League for the foreseeable future. Football fans, get used to seeing more of the same old same old.

On the bright side, I'm sure the new government involvement in the running of football will work out well. "I'm from the government and I'm here to help". Lord preserve us from these useless, interfering arseholes!

FFP is, for me, a rather cynical measure to ensure the established elite group of clubs can't be usurped by 'lesser' clubs with ambitious owners ... if a billionaire owner wants to chuck money at his / her hobby, why the **** not? ... it would be easy to put some financial safeguards in place to mitigate such owners wanting to pull out ...

No one more deserving. I'm so not ready to wave goodbye, I had really hoped for another season.

I'm genuinely not sure I have the words.
    17 point lead blown.
Two FFP charges from two separate leagues and a transfer embargo.

This is special even by our standards of special!

The icing on the cake was Vestergaard and Choudhury showboating and passing the ball between themselves in the second half. You couldn't make it up.

I can't think of one name from that game that would be on the next teamsheet.

Not Vardys best day. Its obvious teams have worked us out but Maresca needs to be able to adapt but all is not lost. Unleash Braybrooke and Alves. Couldn't be worse.

Poor finishing and a collective confidence problem at the moment. They haven't all suddenly become bad players. Body language yesterday told us a lot .... particularly Mavididi. There was no energy, no spark, no movement, no self-belief, and no leadership to tell us to move the ball quicker. When we do that, we can cut through teams like butter.

I was expecting a fast start in order to really put down a marker and get the opposition on the back foot. Unfortunately Bristol City had the same idea and made it work. That first half was the worst I've seen this season.

But on the positive side, we only have 8 must win games now, so the pressure has eased. <doh>

What has Coady got to do to get a game? Faes was dire against Bristol City but once again keeps his place.
