Had one compare Rosenior to Arteta and Klopp earlier saying we should stick with him like Arsenal and Liverpool did them
He improved our defence when he came in, we were pissing goals and pretty much immediately stopped. That was the first job. Don't disagree with the rest of your post, that's the issue we clearly still have. Don't think it affects what I said though.
Kieran McKenna would be the one. Tough opening gig, but it's that old stability trope you've heard from me before. The knives are evidently out, so that's where we are. But no one ever sacked their way to success.
No thanks, I think it's the standard to aim for and so it's exactly who we should be comparing ourselves to.
I get that. It’s an interesting end to the season that’s for sure. If we go out on a whimper I’m not sure there can be any complaints. We clearly have the ability to pull in coveted players, why can’t we do the same with coaches?
We weren't able to do it with players prior to having this coach. And he is well regarded outside of our bubble.
Yeah, I think words got out that he can improve young players. That's something to be coveted in the modern game.
What do you mean we weren’t able to do it prior to having this coach? We’ve not had ambitious owners until very recently so not sure anyone prior to this had the resources to even try.
Shota/Acun tried prior to Rosenior being here. All the coveted domestic players we went for turned us down and went elsewhere. That's changed under Rosenior, seemingly because people outside can see that we have a coherent blueprint and want to be a part of it.
We seem to be having any natural talent and instinct 'coached' out of us. I honestly believe we have players that could rip teams a new one, but that's not the way the 'Gaffa' wants us to play. Take the handbrake off, Liam.
It's really hard to know what brought that abject performance on, was it being away made the players too relaxed? It seemed to me that whenever we let the opposing team dominate the first 5 or 10 minutes with the ball, as Stoke did, then this sets the tone of the game, and we find it hard to wrestle back the momentum. Like at Southampton and Leicester, we started on the front foot and it continued. Hard to pick out any player that had a good game, Slater was the only one at least trying to get us back onto the front foot, but even Seri looked lethargic and didn't control the midfield. Personally, I would have taken him off for Morton and leave Slater on. Omur, who was probably our best player when he came on, should have been on at HT and replace Ohio, as it seems the system with him behind Carvalho works better than we started with yesterday. It's all about the reaction now, previously we had performed well after a disappointing result, let's hope we have got our bad game out of our system, and whether we make the playoff's or not, at least have a good end to the season.
I suggested a few weeks ago if we failed to make the play offs people would want him out and I was scoffed at. Evidently some didn't even need to wait until the end of the season to prove my suspicion true..
Not hugely. Everyone was demanding he start a striker so he did. Zaroury off a goal and assist against Leicester wasn't dropping out.
I sit in the north stand and as the players came out for the second half, the people in front of me stood up to watch the game. (They don’t need to as the people in front of them don’t stand) I remember thinking I can’t stand for another 45 mins and watch this I’m bored ****less. Which isn’t the first time this season
I thought I'd watch the highlights on Sky - I know, stupid thing to do - anyway - first goal, absolutely no one on back post except Philogene - no way to defend a corner, so that's down to training or players not listening to instructions - just naive - seem to remember West Brom equaliser same thing from a corner - our centre backs seem unable to head balls clear --- and as for second goal - what was Allsopp doing - enough said really - no attack and leaky defence - not a recipe for promotion
