True but the ironic thing is we've had the best fitting squad to play with energy and pace since the Bowen and Grosicki years. So its a mentality thing or motivation problem.
Far too many poor performances from individuals for me to agree with pinning the blame solely on Rosenior for that debacle. Most looked like they’d rather be back at the all inclusive in Turkey.
In all honesty, I would be reliving the man of his duties first thing in the morning, and seeing what would tempt big fat Sam or someone of his ilk in for the last 8 games. There’s a mountain to climb now.
It was obvious from very early on that we didn't really have a strategy for this game. We ran out of ideas after ten minutes and, most painfully, no body seemed to give a ****. No leadership on the pitch and no meaningful enlightenment from off it. It was depressing and embarrassing in equal measure.
The problem is we've not had a strategy for those kind of games all season and It never looks like changing and I have no confidence now that under this gaffer it will.
I think it all depends how the rest of the season goes tbf! If today is a theme then I'm not sure they can't I suppose they have 2 questions to ask and answer themselves.... Do they think LR can find a solution to our attacking problems and if he can, do they think he can take us to the next level. If either are no. Then they have no choice
How much do you think Philo's value has shrunk since he came back from injury, or do you think it remains the same..?
I think if anything, it will just make potential club hold off with bids until Xmas/next summer to see if he can get the form back and it wasn't just a flash
Some were suggesting £30m He’s not going to have a better season then KLP did and he was playing with Eaves, Smallwood, Honeyman and co… Albeit we’ve not replaced the latter 2 in terms of midfield grit and bite yet..
I have a feeling their mind is already made up... there are significant commercial interests at stake, as well as reputation ... I believe we all know he cant fix the tempo and attack in a cohesive way...
Honeyman wouldn’t have shrunk away from the occasion today, nor would he have gone missing. Exactly what we need in the team and the midfield in particular.
It’s really hard to see our issues resolving or ever becoming consistent enough for promotion with our current style of play. We hang on to possession in our own half until someone plays a ball forward that is usually relatively difficult to control, from that point on the passage of play becomes pretty quick and direct but everything has to perfect in order for a chance to be created. That’s why we occasionally score a really nice goal but chances are few and far between. I would love to see us focus a bit more on stretching the play and overloads in the final third but everything’s built around this idea of dominating the ball and inviting pressure. When we find ourselves in a good attacking shape we look like we don’t know what to do, I guess because we are conflicted between styles.
He’s being treat like a youth footballer by the clique. Acting as though coaching development happens quickly, we are still seeing the issues we saw early doors in the present. We do not create consistently and until we do we will be midtable mediocrity as we currently are.
