The folk on RTG are using “but Cardiff were ****e” excuse for us winning even on a positive thread. They were poor but we outplayed them and end of the day we’ve been horrendous for the last 7 games so a welcome win against a team above us.

some people just want us to lose to keep them happy it seems.

We were very good today. Felt more assured watching it. First goal helped big time IMO. But some big performances down the spine of the team.

Watched it on a Cardiff stream their commentators were raving about our young fearless players. Yes Cardiff didn’t play well but some great performances from our lads

I'd like him to play like he did today more often, wouldn't you? It's a 17 year old lad we're talking about. You don't run him til he drops. Today's performance will add more to his value than ten average to poor performances.

First time for a while I really enjoyed watching today.
Bellingham showed a real glimpse of what he’ll be offering in the future and Rigg is going to some player.

First time I’ve enjoyed watching us since the Leeds game.

As horrific as it was to watch, I think the QPR draw helped with their confidence by stopping the rot before the international break. Hopefully we can make it back to back wins on Monday and finish the season positively ahead of a massive summer

Been pondering the Jobe performance today. I thought it was 10/10. Absolutely superb and a pleasure to watch it. If he can produce that level of performance as an 18 year old lone striker, against some experienced and decent centre backs, then I wonder if this might be his position for the long term.

We know he can finish. Today was a strikers goal, what a run to get into that position. I think that is instinct. I thought back to goal he was immense, great first touch and has the physique to play that way. He ran the channels to give an outlet, he pressed excellently well, and must have won the ball back 3 or 4 times. In possession I dont remember a bad decision.

Often young players find their best position as they learn first team play. I would be tempted, as a coach, to invest heavily him as a forward. With his attributes he could be a success. I used to like to think of some strikers as playing as a 9 and a half, rather than a 9 or 10. Sheringham was one of those. There have been some exceptional ones like Baggio, Stoichkov etc. That sort of role has been overcome a little bit by the 10, or a ao called false 9. Jobe might well have the sort of attributes to be a real talent in that sort of role.

Dreaming a bit maybe, but he has a hell of a lot to work with. Coaches dream.

2 winnable games coming up - won't be easy, but a bit of momentum to end the season would be lovely

Absolutely agree best I have seen Bellingham play and surely shows what he’s capable of. Only 18 man. His confidence grew and grew. When he dropped back into midfield he just controlled things. Another shout out to Dan Neil as well I could watch that lad play all day wonderful again today

Could he have been rested more this season, of course he could have

But he has developed well this season, he will be better for us next season due to the mjnutes hes got this season so you could say his development has been handled pretty well for the most part

I def wouldnt say his development has been handled very poorly

Young players will always been inconsistent, but the only way he will improve in that area is by getting minutes. He needs to have the bad games to learn from those experiences

OK, time for a bit of honesty so it may as well be me as I'm painted as the black sheep by some on here.

As soon as you posted a few people messaged to say they thought you were dodgy, I agreed.

You acted the innocent, with your first few posts, but it was obviously 'the calm before the storm' we've seen dozens of times before over the years.

There's a pattern, on forums, that stand out a mile so don't be disappointed that you've been sussed.

Posters like you never say where they're from, who they know, games they've been to, games they're going to, etc.

You start off being nice but just can't resist starting with the criticism even though you really know it'll give the game away.

It's always the same routine tbh.

What usually happens is that people protest, claim they're being victimised then, when they know their cover is blown, just vanish.

Why not buck the trend, go out with grace and say you came on to WUM and failed ....

... you'd be the first of many who've tried and couldn't quite pull it off.

Cracking result and performance today against a team thats been playing well over the last month

Neil was just a joy to watch today, controlled the game and again proved why he is one of the best in this league. Thought the 2 CBs were good today, i know o9 has had his haters this season but for me he seems to get better week on week

Adil is a talent, pleased hes getting a run of games as he could be massive for us this season. Rigg does not look out of place, another one that is gaining valuable experience at the minute

I thought Ba was good today and did a lot of the dirty work for us from a wide position - again he gets himself into goal scoring positions every time he plays just needs to take care on final ball/shot

Final mention for Jobe, what a quality performance today. I was delighted that he was playing as our no9 today, feel he is our best option there currently. Defensively he is lacking when playing CM but upfront he presses very well n blocks tje passing lanes. He is such an exciting prospect and i think he will be one of the stand out players in the league next yr

Said to my dad earlier this week that we should be aiming to get to 60 points - that has to be the aim now (4 more wins)

We arent a million miles away from competing at the top end (well depends what supporters you listen top). This summer is huge but we have the makings of a quality team

I agree with this, would use the term ‘mismanaged’ for spells through the season but he’s ahead of where I thought he’d be when we signed him.

Thought he should have been rested under Mowbray, then Beale and then Dodds and it’s never happened even when he was very poor (imo) but like you say he’s probably learned a lot from those types of games.

On reflection over the season I think I’ve been a bit unfair to him. 7 goals at 18 mostly from midfield in your first full pro season is very good. I think if we had committed to him being the striker instead of burstow we could still have been in a play off race. Either way, it’s hard to argue he looks a steal at the reported price we paid.

Phew. Tried a different tact on superstition,
    Vote a win.
    Post a win.
    Stay off the thread.

    That wins a massive relief.

Very cautious summary that I'd have to agree with.

With our returning injured, and a few signings, there's no team we can't beat.

Unlucky to lose to Ipswich, Southampton and Leicester but beat Leeds, Cardiff and West Brom.

With a good manager we'll have every reason to look forward to next season.

Agreed, hes def needed rested more than he has but he has really developed this season

Looks a quality prospect and has had a bigger impact than i thought

I really like him as a striker, feel hes got a bit of everything to play up there (probably just lacking the explosive pace to get in behind)
