I genuinely thought we could get a point today, as we do play better against better sides. Our issue has been turning great positions into chance and goals, it still is for me, better attacking sides than us score 2 or more today. Still work to do, but week done City.
Fair play, Max with a great performance, credit all round to everyone, hopefully back it up with a performance like that against Plymouth
We are now 11 points from the playoffs and 11 points from the drop. 12th - you can’t get much more mid-table than that!!!
Nothing from RR yet so I’ll post for him: ‘bollocks, that means Liam’s job is probably safe for another couple of weeks…’
Congrats to all the team and a special one to Liam, fantastic result after all the trbulations, just for info, we won 15 league games in total last season, today was our 14th this season, happy days.
As long as we win I don’t care who the manager is, unfortunately we haven’t done it enough under LM. He can easily win me around, win football matches.
His criticism of LM is perfectly valid imo, the new lord and saviour isn’t beyond criticism and it doesn’t mean the likes of him, myself and Ashton are Pearson luvvies. We are a good counter attacking team when teams give us space to work in, we are simply useless against teams who sit back and put 10 behind the ball. If he finds a formula for this then great but I suppose we can say it’s been the same for donkeys years not being able to break down a team who sit back.
That’s a fair comment Tom. No manager is beyond criticism. I’m just teasing RR - It seems like after every poor performance and/or defeat he’s on these boards immediately shouting ‘Manning out’, but after a win or a good performance we see/hear nothing.
