Just a quick note having spent 45 years,and still working! as a psychiatric nurse and not saying I know the answers to everything it is essential you can open up about how you are feeling. This involves developing a trust in who you are seeing. That sometimes takes time, don’t be pressured, go by your gut feeling Here endeth, even though I am in Melbourne I originate from Ull. I sit next to Marcus at City - known him for 2 years since he moved into the West stand. Lovely lad, travels home and away with his mum. Seen some of his ups and downs and try to support him as much as possible. A real eye open for me on a battle over mental health.....I am 61 and just never appreciated the challenges /effects
Using this forum to emphasise the need to cherish each day As some may know, I am a mental health nurse and have been one for years Over the last year I have had two major surgeries cardiac ,and last week removal of a gall bladder. The gall bladder was touch and go , if I had left it for a few hours it could have been cactus according to the surgeon. Time for me to reflect, good example of taking each day as it comes.What’s the cause? Who knows , but talk to people, don’t be afraid. Compassion doesn’t cost anything, I find this forum to be part of my life, part of me. So I don’t mind sharing my inner thoughts. I have faith in the Tigers.
Thanks for sharing this. I’ve not seen many of his videos, but when I have I’ve always thought ‘what a genuinely nice lad’. He admits to making mistakes in the past but most of us have been through a ‘d***head’ phase in our teens. He needs not to be so hard on himself. I’ve always found overthinking to be the main culprit for poor mental health. Just try to be around people you love and trust and spend time doing the things you enjoy. Life is too short for anything else.
I've seen a few of his match day videos on youtube and found them all very good. I thought he was a natural to it. He also come across as a decent lad and not the usual 'it's all about me, me and me' match day blogs that are out there.
Marcus has been running a mile a day throughout April creating awareness for mental heath and has been posting a vlog on X-Twitter of whatever the hell it’s called these days. He has been contacted by Russ, (The Hardest Geezer - the guy the recently ran across Africa) and asked Marcus if he could run the last mile with him. He is now off to London on Tuesday to meet up with Russ and run it together with it all being filmed by the BCC national news. I told him to wear his City shirt!
