I just don't get all this doom and gloom.

We didn't expect to be fighting for a play off spot this season. So there should be a real feel good factor at the moment. I'm actually dreading the atmosphere on Friday especially if things don't go our way straight away

I've asked myself this a few times now, I know this will come across as a bit of a cop out, but I really think it depends how we finish the season....if it's a very close call I think he'll still be here next season and I think he deserves that. But I also wouldn't be surprised to see him go if we finish with a bit of a whimper.

Again this sounds like I'm avoiding really answering, but I think he deserves to start the season next season, but I also wouldn't be to upset if Acun made the change.

I think it will all boil down to what's been said and or agrees target wise behind closed doors..... If he's still here though he has to sort out the goal scoring as his #1 priority.

I don't honestly understand the argument about whose decision it was. Ultimately, that's also rans to us as fans because all we see is the end product and that's what matters come May time. I thought Sharp was a pretty astute signing and it was clear he wasn't being brought in just in the hope he somehow rediscovers his 26 year old self. His influence outside of matchdays is invaluable, though the one question I would have about the process is whether him signing was the "well we've signed a striker" moment, or whether the plan was to get somebody else as well and it didn't work out so we looked up available strikers, spoke to agents and went from there. I daresay a bit of panic Youtubing was utilised in that signing. I didn't get much info during the last window, truth be told I didn't try because my pal wasn't great mental health wise and had a bit of family concern so I sent love and left well alone.

If you had to make a decision, would you say LR would improve further and carry us to a higher finish or do you think he would do a Shota and improve us for a season and then start next September with a P45?

Given he's just been given an improved deal, things will have to fall off pretty badly for him not to be here next year.

I think there's zero chance Rosenior is moved on.

Very very good question.... I think if you kept LR long term ( and I'm talking 3/4/5yrs ) then no doubt he would improve as a coach / manager and in turn improve us.... But, in this day and age would that ever happen? If Acun wants or now needs promotion next season for example, then I'm not sure LR will improve us enough to do it in that time frame.

    What about you?

Why would Acun 'need' promotion next season?

Being poached by a bigger club seems more likely at this stage, so I don't understand the rationale of those salivating over it.

Would a club ever hold a manager for 3/4/5 years? Well next season will be Rosenior's third with us.

It will be his 3rd season, well done for stating the obvious. Not what I said though is it.... He's got approx another 20months ( quick guess ) to have been with us 3yrs (which was the shortest time frame I mentioned) and that's a long time in football.

Why the snark? I'm pointing out that we are clearly giving him the time to develop. Why do you treat everything as if someone's trying to catch you out?

He signed a new deal with us until 2027, which will mean he'll have been with us 4-5 years if he sees it out, and there's been no indication he won't be here at least through the entirety of next season, which would take him into his third year with us.

I think for the exact reasons you stated in your first sentence, I'd keep him. If we fail to make it this season, it's still been a success. Disappointing given the potential, but we have a much greater chance of realising that potential if we keep as much of the positives as possible and maintain a large degree of stability.

Contrary to what some might think, I don't think an overhaul is incoming, nor do I think we need to initiate one. There are only a handful of players that aren't at the required level and had we signed the squad we have now in August, sans injuries of course, we'd be talking about who we want in the playoffs or better. Contracts will be offered to those that are deemed good enough, I think Slater could do with a new deal to reflect his importance as I don't think we'll see Morton again in a City shirt unless we're promoted. So for me, the logical choice is to keep the manager, keep the playing style that's seen us climb the league and cross the difficult, rickety bridge of replacing whoever if and when the time arises, allowing for the squad to continue improving and building on the quality that we already have.

Or, sack him and get Big Sam in. You know, whatever.

Maybe because you've got form for twisting or making up what I say a number of times to suit what you think.... If you wasn't in this case, my apologies

How was I 'twisting or making up' anything when I was pointing out that next season would be Rosenior's third with us? I've seen in the past few pages you accusing a few others of making things up or twisting things too so it seems you're just in a bit of a defensive mindset today.

We signed him cos he'd started well but ultimately failed at Everton, but I'll accept he was a 1 in 4 striker for us. If only we could have kept Long longer and I think he'd have scored more. But again, 46 games in a period of how long that we've not really had an established centre forward at the level we've been at, I mean we're talking years on end really...
