I'm with Crc on this one, I reckon it stinks and I'm really pissed off.

I'm not a bank !!! I've paid for season tickets for my son and I which was a cost of nearly £500. Next we were being given the chance to buy away season tickets which they wanted £400 up front for and further instalments to be added in the future. This was something I could not afford as I have to pay as I go along. I've been to all the away games except Man City (working) and the cost has worked out, travel and tickets for the both of us at approx £600, that does include my Blackburn tickets.

Now they want another £508 off me for next seasons tickets, so that's about £1600 in the last 6 months. Bill Gates I am not and I'm really annoyed. so if I dont pay by March then its thanks for all your hard earned cash for the last 10 years of being a season ticket holder and for the 15+ away games each season but now you can piss off.

This Christmas gift thing is all bloody spin as is this Jack Army scheme where you're charged every time you order a ticket for the privilege of using your own computer at your own cost on your Internet connection that you pay for. The finance option will be a rip off too so I won't even look at that, I'd rather use my credit card at least the banks are honest about being crooks.

No wonder wherever we go this season the support has been piss poor, the real fans are being pushed out by the plastics and places like The Emirates and Stamford Bridge were libraries, even Anfield was poor. Is that what they want at the Liberty? If they're not careful that's what they'll end up getting.......Rant Over !!!!

I know what your saying dil and i agree with you for most part, i think because you are a true supporter that goes to home and away matches then the club should have an obligation to look after fans like you, Its certainly not cheap to follow the swans thats for sure and i think you should get a better deal than me who tends to go to just home matches now than a great supporter like yourself who goes home and away......

Dai, before the season started I was talking to Ugo who runs the travel club. He was telling me that he contacted the club and asked them if there was anything they would be willing to do to ensure that regular away fans got tickets. He had a list of people that had been going away for years week in week out, real fans, season ticket holders. Yes I'm on that list so I am obviously biased but surprise surprise they weren't interested, saying that other people went away regular who were not in the travel club. I see the point they made but at the end of the day we are talking about the official travel club of Swansea City ! Plastics won't be in it and he was willing to give them a list of names of genuine fans.

The truth is they couldn't care less about the genuine fans anymore it's all about the money.

Ps, get your arse in gear and get to some away games, great days out with the Jack Army and I'll even buy you a pint too

I understand why the club is doing this - what I don't agree with is that if you don't renew your season ticket before the end of February it then go's on general sale! There has been no advance warning of this decision so no-one has been able to budget for it. I am in the lucky position of being able to afford it, but I have many friends, who have been season ticket holders for years, who can't. The club has basically told them 'pay up early or lose your seat!' I understand all the arguments supporting this anouncement - financially it is a very good decision - morally not so good; a lot of lifelong season ticket holders will just not be able to afford it at the most expensive time of the year!

No matter what the club do they will leave some upset, I know it's bloody expensive to buy these tickets, but the club have a waiting list of 5k people waiting for one these , those on the queue will be pleased to hear this. What is needed is an expansion of he stadium , as I have been saying for the last 5 years that a 20k stadium is good for every league except the one we are in.

There are no easy answers, and honestly I feel for the genuine fans stuck in the middle of this.

What I have found is that this is causing some real resentment from many long standing season ticket holders - they feel that they are being held to ransom by the club. Then there are others who have decided that the money they were going to spend on merchandice at Christmas will now be put toward the season ticket. Ticketing in general has been a badly handled fiasco this year and for many this is the icing on the cake. Swansea have always boasted about being a club that is fan centred, but this decision has left many feeling that this is a lie - stick with us when times are bad - turn up week in, week out, when we play less glamorous fixtures - but as soon as we hit the big time, pay up or ship out! And guess what - we're not going to give you any warning - we'll anounce this just before Christmas when you have so many other things you are trying to budget for! As I said in my previous post - this isn't going to affect me - I'll renew my season ticket - but I am really angry for the many friends of mine who are not going to be able to at such short notice!

Swansea city ever since we have moved to the liberty has never once got the ticket service right, its a fiasco from start to finish. even when you go on line you can never get through half the time, this is one area in administration that badly needs to sort out...

Agree totally Dai - and think this change of season ticket renewal deadline is gonna cause a lot more bad feeling - many long standing supporters are livid, even the ones who can afford it at this time! The line I keep hearing is that the club don't care about loyal fans - there are 5,000 waiting to take their place! Fans are the heart and soul of any club and I feel that SCFC are alienating some of their most loyal ones by pointing a gun at their head and saying 'we are Premier League now - your support in the lower leagues means nothing to us - we are now in the big time - if you can't afford to follow us, there are plenty who can!'

They are obviously doing this because we are where we are, so if we go down they will have still sold the stadium before we know one way or the other, as a business it's the right thing to do, as a football club it's gonna to piss a lot of people off, I am one of them, but they did the same last season when we weren't over subscribed, there was no grumbling then.

As a trust member I am asking if this is endorsed by them, what is their standpoint on this?

Totally agree mate <ok> I also agree with Dill. I think our away fan base has been great, amazing even, but as a season ticket holder over the last 5 years, ive put money in the coffers of SCFC so we can buy players in the summer transfer window and help progress the club. I feel ****in shat on (sorry Jager) that the club has gone down the money route and trying to cash in on the loyal supporters who have got us there. As said earlier on this thread, Im on a budget and save up all year for my season tickets, and I cant see me being able to afford £1000+ 3 months after Christmas. Looks like im going to have to be an avid watcher on TV or an internet downloader.

    Any way.

Swansea till I die. (Or Morriston Town get into the Football league <ok> )

Can you not wait until March and then use the 4-month interest-free option (although admin charge of £20) or the 10 monthly payments option (19.9% APR)? Just a polite suggestion. <ok>

Thanks aswan_dam, but ive looked at all the options. But as I said, im on a tight budget and 4 months inerest free option would mean £250 per month for our season tickets, which over 12 months I can budget for. After my wife having our daughter earlier this year and being down to half wages, theres no way I can afford this kind of extra monthly income Good luck to those who can afford it, just feel a bit shat on that my budget has been changed without warning and my favourite past time has been taken away from me by the club ive followed for years. Up the Swans <ok>
