we was three points off playoffs and the clowns sacked him- 3 POINTS that is not heading downwards. They messed up and they are responsible for that end off.
Reality, we were bloody dreadful, check the results before Manning arrived...the only decent result was v Plymouth.....but you keep your rose tinted glasses on mate.......short memories, but most of the fans that commented wanted Pearson out at the time..we were going nowhere as per usual....and the football was crap........
Not rose coloured, I’ve quoted facts, I notice you haven’t challenged them, forget Nige he’s gone, what I do know is there are significant numbers that want Manning out NOW, again that’s facts. Not in the past but now.
IMO, those fans not allowing time for a coach using the same players as the previous manager, not allowing him to bring in some of his own players and only giving a few months expecting miracles..................................are as bad as JL, BT thinking he would.......oh and fickle to the extreme.. We had an experienced manager, supposing to be the dogs bollocks that completely failed with them.. Give it a rest Ashton
Evidence so far based on his record at our club is relegation form as I’ve evidenced, if your happy to leave the future of our club in his hands based on those tact’s that’s your prerogative, I’m not. I’ve nothing against him, my only interest is the wellbeing of our club.
When we have the ability to do the following, then I'm happy giving him more time..... https://www.southamptonfc.com/en/news/article/report-bristol-city-end-saints-unbeaten-run
No, but based on the ridiculous idea to sack a coach that's been in the job for just a few months, working with players that the previous experienced manager, failed with in three years....
But he did not fail understand the **** he inherited and culled then covid then 3 points of playoffs and you get sacked-that to any sane man is wrong.
Still not denying the teams form since he was appointed is relegation, despite his remit for this season to IMPROVE our form , sorry but that isn’t good enough, we need someone that can work with the squad we have, which he clearly can’t. Unless he improves greatly and quickly he’ll be gone, the pressure from the fans will force the issue
Losing to Stoke at home after being 2-0 up was the start of many fans calling for him to be fired.....check all the comments after all the games we lost after....majority of fans wanted him gone......just saying....there was minimal hope us making any playoffs......the 3 points was misleading as the championship was so tight.........you have to admit,,,,,overall we were bloody dreadful.......and to be honest, Nige's tactics were bloody awful as well...
Not at all, we can’t afford to take chances, he’s had pretty much half a season to prove his worth, to date he’s failed. You pointed out a game we did well under his stewardship, in that game he ditched Manningball and we played to our strengths, if he was more experienced I believe he’d be more pragmatic and play to our strengths all the time, instead he’s continued to try to impose a system that the players aren’t suited to. That will be his downfall imo.
Any decision has risks involved, I agree, I don’t want instability either, I’d prefer not to keep getting rid, I understand your point, but his record is dire and I don’t want us to get relegated. Look if we keep him and I’m proved wrong I’ll be the first to congratulate him, I’m not trying to make a point for the sake of it , I’m genuinely worried if we keep him we’ll be relegated, that’s all.
That’s modern day football for you, they don’t get enough time anymore, look at Millwall for example, they got rid of their modern progressive head coach after a few months.
Sacking Pearson was taking a chance-we were told the new gaffer was a upgrade and would be taking us on. JL and BT need their heads looking at.
