I'm no computer expert, but recently decided to splash out on a MacBook pro and it is by far and away the best laptop/pc etc that I've ever had. It's fast, easy to use, never crashes and looks great.

Thanks for the advice guys, much appreciated!

With the issue of over heating can you not just put a book underneath it, thats what I do with my Acer after it over heated a few times and it seems to work?

Also is that the new Pavillion you have or a older edition?

    Sorry, only just seen this.
If its still relevent: I've tried books, slants and everything to keep it cool, all that does is buy me a bit of time. The best thing I had was a chillow. Its a couple years old now, so probably not the latest version, hopefully they have sorted it out by now!

    For the charge, you

A: Should not leave the battery in when you are using it plugged in
B: Should run the battery down once a month and fully charge it

They should last a bit longer then, my wife done A and not B for the first 6 months, and now she gets 5 minutes out of the battery (with an acer 5920)

I have just bought a new keyboard for it this week, other one was wrecked, £23 on amazon £10.99 on ebay.

We also have something similar (its not the same though so you may get better) to keep the heat down, but she never bloody uses it.

Ohright thanks, went into the shop and it was sold out as it was on some offer, maybe getting a Packard Bell now, as can get a good deal on one!

And thanks BlackcatSteve wise words, on which I will follow, nothing worse then having to charge a laptop every 15 minutes!
