I reckon so, I think he has more about his game than the other two. Allsop can be back up, guessing they’d be happy to have Cartwright or Tim LT as back up. TLT having another good loan spell by all accounts.
I can’t believe acun went “all in” but didn’t buy a striker. Seems to much of a risk, it’s like twisting when your on 19
I still want more views on pandurs hair Im a fan Very old school clark kent Full tube of brylcreem look
It's the clubs model.... if we can keep picking up an Omur at 3 million (maybe he'll be the next one that goes for substantial money) then over 2/3 seasons you hit a squad thats cost a realistic amount that gets you promoted..
I know some won't like me saying this, believe it and just accuse me of hating LR......but acun delivered what LR asked for in Jan. He didn't see a striker as a priority until it was to late
We definitely have to balance the books so to speak, of the 2 I think Jacob is the more likely to leave.
Our form is 1 loss in 10, averaging 1.9 points a game. Norwich are in excellent form but we’ve still got a decent chance
Unfortunately, people say that every year but every year the championship just gets stronger, this season was a huge realistic chance for us and although it's still doable, I think we'll fall short. Acun saw this and backed LR fantastically..... He really wanted promotion this season. The one thing that worries me a tad, is the need to sell, agents and clubs will know this and unfortunately will use it to get a better deal for Jacob/Jaden etc... if it's left to the final week/days of the window they could leave for less and also leave us no time to replace.
Posting roughly 5.5m losses in each of the last 2 years leaves quite a bit of headroom to cover this year's losses without it affecting next years theoretical headroom too much, but obviously sales will be needed sooner or later to make current operating losses at around 21m sustainable, so i'd expect one or the other will be sold rather than both unless they both push to leave or if silly money is on offer. I'd assume Jaden would be the prime candidate simply due to that 15m clause if we get promoted. He's potentially worth more to us as an asset in this league, this summer than in the prem next. But it's worth remembering that selling klp went a long way to financing the current squad build, and we've strengthened overall, so it shouldn't be feared. it's also the situation every other ambitious non parachute championship clubs find themselves in. Having to develop talent and reinvest profit to build over time. And it's also worth noting that club mouthpiece Baz stated Tuesday from Antalya that the owners felt they were ahead of where they expected to be at this point when they took over. Obviously there's a plan in place that involves incremental improvement over time.
I knew it would be **** or bust this season with regards to promotion and player sales next season. You don’t sign the likes of Carvalho and Zaroury on loan in January to settle for 8th. We might still make the playoffs but I doubt it and even if we did I don’t think we’re consistent or smart enough to come out on top over those three games. In a way, we’ve bottled it this season.
Some stato will come along and put us both right. Not sure it gets harder and harder every year, this years top 6 is exceptionally tough with four teams virtually nailed on leaving 2 places fought over by 5 or 6 teams. It may have been prudent not to go all in back in January and have a reset ready for next season. I have also said for years that the gap between the PL and the championship is ever widening, but some years are harder than others to get promoted.
We've had this conversation before so no point going over it again, but you've or nobody has any idea what headroom there is or isn't... I think both will go in summer. They both have keen interest, albeit Jadens had cooled somewhat due to his injury resulting in a lay off ( I think that'll come back quickly though if he hits the same form again ). Imo Jadens not a PREM player yet, if I was Acun I'd be pushing for a loan back as part of any deal ( and a big sell on % ) I've also said it more then once but I'll say it again, I really couldn't care less what other clubs are or aren't doing. Do you really think a media man like acun would allow "a club mouthpiece" to say anything but that? It would be absolutely idiotic. Acun saw a huge chance for promotion this season, wanted it and backed LR accordingly. He would hardly bring in who he has and spend what he did otherwise, it would be pointless. If we don't hit the playoffs this season it's a huge missed opportunity, that doesn't mean we haven't seen improvement progression on last season by any means....both can be true
You can look at the previous accounts and make an educated guess, and you can look at losses to last summer before sales as a benchmark for this year too. There will be 3 or 4 clubs feeling it's a missed opportunity for 6th by the end of the season. Only 1 will get there. That's the state of this league currently.
The sheer amount of money just makes it wider, but the more people that try and buy their way out the champ makes it harder as well. I feel the quality in the champ gets higher each season also, you see that with the players dropping out the PREM just to get a game etc...
No more or less educated than yours. You're entitled to your opinion, but don't dress yours up as any more valid than anyone else's.
I never said my was educated, I think you'll find I said "your or nobody has any idea".... Please tell me how that means I'm saying mines educated? Or where I've said what headroom we have or haven't got?
I wasn't the one who said 'you can make an educated guess', but it's simple enough to work out the headroom were playing with this year by looking at the previous 2 years losses. You're the one arguing against a point whilst defeating your own argument by saying you or anyone else doesn't know. And besides, bickering about headroom doesn't address the wider point about player development and that KLP has already been sold to fund the current recruitment already and we're stronger overall as a result, so it's a process that shouldn't be feared.
