I think that this report is a load of nonsense. There is no suggestion that Watford has actually approached Shaun Maloney. His CV is unimpressive and I suspect that linking his name to Watford (as with Steve Cooper, Scott Parker and Van Bronkhorst) is mere speculation. Gino Pozzo is not likely to be discussing his options with these websites and most of these journalists know very little about the club. It was mentioned on another forum by someone (who has a contact within the club) that the plan is to wait until the summer because the preferred option will not be available until that time. I am hoping that it might be Diego Martinez who (as a matter of policy) will only join a club at the start of a season. Gino Pozzo has maintained a good relationship with him, although his stock has fallen a little (after his experiences at Espanyol and Olympiacos) in a similar way to that of the club. He had great success at Granada, leading them to promotion from Segunda Liga and to 7th place in La Liga with a place in the Europa League, but he chose not to renew his contact when it expired after three years. It was the first time that Granada had qualified for any European competition. He spent time with a number of clubs, including Watford, in 2021 when he was studying coach methods and watching games in the Premier League and the Championship. He remarked in an interview with the Guardian that he was impressed with the resources at Watford.
He has been linked a number of times . As you say no one really knows . Not much gets leaked out easily regarding managers or potential signings .
WTE basically saying he was told to leave . https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...ong-lifts-lid-turbulent-times-watford-career/
Ah it is on the paywall . Shame as sometimes they have articles that are free to read . Bit of a summary.
Perhaps there is no surprise on this. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/24202219.watford-make-no-changes-season-ticket-prices/
I know some fans are annoyed by the distraction of international football, but I still feel a sense of pride when any of our players are on international duty for their country. They're living our dream basically! Good luck to him.
Definitely. And any player will want to reach a major tournament. Fans get bored with England as we qualify easily but when it comes to the big games they start supporting them .
Sounds like Porteous and Scotland generally were doing quite well against the Netherlands but let it slip maybe after a few changes in personal in the last 20 minutes or so .
Young striker James Collins is undertaking a trial period at Sheffield Wednesday. The 19-year-old played for the Hornets Under-21s as recently as March 15, scoring twice in the second half of an epic 5-3 win over Ipswich Town at London Colney in a game where they trailed 3-0 at half-time. However, since then Collins has headed north and linked up with the Owls. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...d-wednesday-take-young-watford-striker-trial/
