I think that’s the point though? He isn’t a holding midfielder. He should exclusively be used as an attacking midfielder as an alternative to Stu.
A strange one this because I thought at the time that their announcement of his death was a bit lacking in affection too. Considering he both played and managed us for a combined total of about 12 years I was surprised by an almost cold tone to their report. A bit unusual for our media department who usually get things right IMO.
A player's reaction is really not a good guide. Its common for someone to make a mistake, put a team mate in a difficult sitiuation and then go bananas at them when they lose it Hving watched the extended highlights, Bedders pass wasn't great, he could have hoofed it, Manning tried to deal with it and failed and then our dribble specialist, not surprisingly tried to dribble it. I'd also suggest that as their attack was now on our centre-left, Bedders our LCB should have been in for the tackle/block, not leaving it to Jack our RCB Adding to this it was also Bedders poor pass to Stu that started their attack for the 2nd goal and then Bedders was the man facing the scorer when he got the shot in What amazed me at the game was that Bedders got MOTM. He was ok but there were clearly better performances
This is the last time that we beat Sunderland 4-2 at home in the second tier... Can anybody guess what happened at the end of that season?...
Just listened (finally) to TSP comments. Amazes me that I agree with virtually everything they say every week. For this game; RM got it totally wrong with the first 2 subs; way too early & wrong players. Ref was pants & Sulamana; will he ever produce anything of real value with goals, assists or even a telling pass in the final third. Oh & stop putting squares into rounds! Yep, yep, yep & yep.
Rightly or wrongly, whenever I think of wingers with no end product I can't help put think of Fabrice Fernandes...
Yep, absolute belter. https://www.premierleague.com/video/single/965175 Really wished he taken the opportunity to shoot more. Looking at his stats I can't believe he only scored 6 goals in all competitions (88 app, 18 sub) yet he was able to go past people so easily. My eldest is exactly the same, I have to remind him that dribbling is a means to end (getting into space for a pass, cross or a shot) and not an end in itself.
