Good to see Howard Webb clear up doku kicking mac in the chest and why it wasn’t a pen… but also was a pen if ref gave it…

The ball is ‘too low to head’ yet is around Macs chest/shoulder height.

then again, wasnt Webb the ref that only gave a yellow when de Jong kung fu kicked alonso in the chest in the World Cup final when was the most obvious straight red you’ve ever seen?

City will get a 104 points deduction, reduced by 2pts for every week of the year and awarded 10pts as a good-will gesture.
To preserve the integrity and reputation of the Premier League.
    Brown envelopes may be involved.

They should. However, it would be difficult, for instance, to come up with a comprehensive list of acceptable mitigating factors. Maybe they shouldn't allow mitigating factors as part of the process. Keep it simple - If a club overspends, they have sanctions imposed.

Little known fact. Stalin's family originated in Mansfield before moving to Russia.

It’s funny all season (and a few previous ones) we’ve been told that winning the ball means nothing if you’re follow through is dangerous.

Yet somehow on this one, winning the ball automatically means it’s not a foul. Wonder how long that new rule will last

Pretty sure a high boot when an opponent is going for the ball is classed as endangering the opponent and meant to be an automatic foul too. AMC sees the boot coming and turns away to protect himself, maybe he should have just stuck his head in there anyway...<doh>

Mac clearly should have ducked under the ball so Doku’s foot didn’t get hurt. Poor from Mac’s position, could have easily bruised Doku’s little toe and put him out for weeks.

It's getting harder not to take these poor decisions personally. As Sucky said the other day, can anyone think of any contentious decisions that have gone against city?

PREVIEWInternationals: When and where Reds are on duty in March
Joe Gomez has been recalled to the England fold for a pair of friendlies at Wembley, with the Three Lions to host Brazil on March 23 and Belgium three days later.

Kostas Tsimikas will link up with Greece as they aim to qualify for Euro 2024. They face Kazakhstan in the play-off semi-finals on March 21 and a win would set up a decider against Georgia or Luxembourg on March 26 for a ticket to the finals.

Reds teammates are set to face off when a Netherlands squad including Cody Gakpo and Virgil van Dijk host Andy Robertson’s Scotland on March 22 in Amsterdam.

The Dutch will then travel to Germany on March 26, while on the same date Scotland will host Conor Bradley’s Northern Ireland in Glasgow. Bradley and his nation will previously have visited Romania on March 22.

Dominik Szoboszlai will skipper Hungary in home friendlies versus Turkiye (March 22) and Kosovo (March 26), while Caoimhin Kelleher is with the Republic of Ireland for back-to-back Dublin games against Belgium (March 23) and Switzerland (March 26).

Ibrahima Konate has been named in the France squad for home matches with Germany on March 23 and Chile three days later.

There are two 2026 World Cup qualifiers for Wataru Endo’s Japan, each against Korea DPR – at home on March 21 and away on March 26.

Luis Diaz is with Colombia as they prepare to take on Spain in London on March 22 then meet Romania in Madrid on March 26.

Alexis Mac Allister, meanwhile, will travel to the USA with Argentina for a pair of games. The world champions face El Salvador on March 22 and Costa Rica four days later.

Harvey Elliott and Jarell Quansah will be with England U21s for two U21 European Championship qualifiers. They journey to Azerbaijan on March 22 and host Luxembourg on March 26.

Bobby Clark and Kaide Gordon join the Elite Squad (U20s) for fixtures in Poland (March 22) and Czechia (March 26). Jayden Danns, Amara Nallo and Trey Nyoni will be with the U18s group competing at the U18 Pinatar Super Cup.

And Lewis Koumas has been called up by Wales U21s for an U21 European Championship qualifier versus Lithuania (March 22) and friendly with Morocco in Turkiye (March 26).

almost every game is a friendly bar a few play offs for euro quali.

diaz is in Europe with Colombia so won't be jet lagged.

I would hope some players have a modicum of sense and only play 45mins if they can

It seems players get more injured on international friendlies.

I think the tribal nature of football is a major part of the problem here. Yes, these things do happen to other teams in general, (I'm not sure about City specifically). We often take note of them at the time but if they don't affect us we don't get overly excited and they don't stick in the memory so much.
When they happen to us the Liverpool haters will use the opportunity to label us moaners, and the same will happen to other clubs from their rivals. The refs and their apologists come up with some ad hoc bullshit excuse and the haters lap it up. For the ref to miss it in the midst of a game is understandable - for VAR to not see it as an incident worthy of review is negligent. For refs representatives to back up that decision and to twist the rules to try and justify their backing is unforgivable.
Everyone associated with football knows that that's a penalty, but plenty will deny that knowledge because it suits their agenda.
Until all fans realise that these awful decisions can and do affect us all at some time or other, and take a stand against it no matter who is involved - then it will keep happening.

I agree with you. I don't think we are the only team that gets poor decisions. I only watch our games so I see ours first hand. I know from reading around that there are plenty of fans of other teams who can list their hard done by decisions too. I mentioned city because, until Sucky pointed it out, it hadn't crossed my mind that I too can't recall a single contentious decision going against them.
