Sartori is harmless and benign imo, I'm happy whether he stays or goes. I doubt it will make any difference to KLD and the board either. Our owner is a man sharp enough to surround himself with good advisors, brought up in football and who isn't just the face of a consortium. Those who want him replaced would be the first to jump on the next man ... ... unless it's spend spend spend then they'll be fine until it goes wrong and they start demanding again. To be fair mate, things being said on here usually aren't worth a light. I was told the safety meeting was when the Anti-Saudi banners were dropped. The club had already been threatened with sanctions, and that's a fact, after missiles were thrown from the South Stand Upper on various occasions. If we'd allowed 6/7000 Mags up there and there'd been missiles the club would've been in trouble. If the missiles were thrown after provocative 'club approved' banners had gone up it could've been serious. Prospective buyers don't give a hoot about fans flags and banners, not even their opinions most of the time. They're only interested in numbers and income. The years of the Mags and their death threats, stalking Ashley to his work place, shouting at his shops, endless protests, banners, etc, didn't make the slightest difference to the Saudis. They bought the club and supporters, lock stock and two smoking phone boxes.
KLD's family have a Jewish background and contingent, his grandad, on his father's side, was a strict Jew so I believe. It wasn't broadcast because Marseille's support has a high percentage of North Africans. So, imagine if KLD is Jewish, we'd been drawn at SJP and the Saudis had encouraged antisemitic banners to be put up ... ... people who twisted that they couldn't have their moment of fun perhaps didn't think things through and just used it as another way to say we'd bent over for the Mags. Those who keep saying they want balance, on here, are sometimes those who refuse to consider other possibilities. Not allowing anti-Saudi banners doesn't mean we betrayed our own supporters, most people really couldn't have cared less about them ... ... it was a football match, not a freedom march on Westminster.
Accused of selling secrets to the enemy or summat, exonerated eventually iirc ... ... either that or he blackmailed Larry David into giving his granddaughter a part in Seinfeld
Who wants to 'invest' in English football at the moment tbh. Wages at 100% of turnover, sanctions for spending money, top six clubs wanting to leave the PL. On top of that the clubs relegated from the PL will probably go up and the ones from the previous season will come down. Sartori has nothing to sell tbh, he has no say in the club and the shares are worthless unless KLD sells up. It's quite an investment and, if we're relegated, could be a bad one.
Exactly, Satori is stuck with some shares KLD has no need to purchase. Could this be the reason for all the anti club media doing the rounds (just my conspiracy theory mind running a mock again).
I don’t get all this about the upper tier stuff putting their fans there. Liverpool had 7k in the upper tier against Man Utd at the weekend above home fans. It happens all over.
It's the old 'failure to control the crowd' routine. The accusation was that we'd failed to do proper turnstile searches, provided too few stewards, having inadequate cctv, etc.
Not sure he is stuck with them. He might have to lower his asking price, but there are those in different parts of the globe keen to invest in English footy. The Americans think the PL brand is undervalued and some would welcome the chance to invest in a club aspiring to get there. More so if interest rates are in their favour. Middle Eastern countries want in for different reasons. Just because KLD has majority doesnt mean Sartoris arent valuable. Look at Ratcliffe and Man Utd there is a long game to play for some with deep pockets. Ideally KLD will want to work with a new shareholder if Sartori sells up. He could end up with a friend or foe on the board. Last thing we need is a sale to someone at odds with KLD. What if we get someone who wants to throw money around because he accepts the risk. KLD could block it, but it could get ugly quickly too. If I were KLD I would be keen to facilitate a frieny buyer, not just sit on what I have.
