https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68602074 Is this a monumental moment. Or is it going to hinder us. I can’t decide?
Very hard to decide whether it’s good or bad for us although as things are the odds are stacked against us so difficult to be worse
Echoes my thoughts. I think with this a fairer version of PSR/FFP could arrive. As you rightly say it’s hard to imagine it being any worse.
It could be both. If it’s that important we will keep talking about it so it should stay on front page as long as Chaos doesn’t start any more of his “I was right” threads. So No.
I think that the Regulators main concerns will be ensuring sustainability of lower level football and giving more voice to the fans. I don’t think it will have any bearing on our struggles to grow as a club. I suspect more PL money will be siphoned down to the EFL which I think is good for the game but doesn’t help us.
Great news the Government are in bed with MBS and the Premier League is a mouth piece for 6 clubs. They tried to make examples of Everton and Forest in an attempt to avoid all their foul ways being allowed to continue. Not surprised a large number of clubs excluding Newcastle are crying about it.
I’m just hearing the make up of the new independent body Alan Shearer Les Ferdinand Robert Lee David Ginola Happy days
I’m beginning to wonder when if all comes out whether there will be any actual changes per se. Sounds to me the PL already have their mind set on the 70% of turnover rule already lined up.
Worms? Who are the worms? The big six? They would love the 70% rule as they dominate the income tables. We just have to grow the commercial side and in 3 years we can compete. Unless the new body rips up the PSR rules and allows investment. Actually when I think about it I think they might do that. This PSR is open to potential legal challenge. Sport or not these are businesses and owners should have the right to protect their own assets with investment. @Hamish McMagdad has this one bang on with Escrow. The more I think about that the more I think it’s the only viable answer.
I actually think it's a bad thing across the board. They're not going to change anything that will allow us to become more competitive at all... All it will do is siphon money away, slow things down and in the end, damage the strength of the PL.
Yeah maybe right here. My hope was they’d look at PSR and insist on a clause to allow outside investment if the club wasn’t held liable. All it now looks like having heard Parry is a strong arming of the PL to increase revenue to EFL and flatten parachute payments. By doing the latter you effectively remove any Champ team from ever being competitive in the PL. Sure for the EFL it means a more competitive Chanpionship but it will also more or less guarantee that the 3 coming up will go back down.
All Parry would talk about is that and Parry is just another turd anyway. He's as self interested as the big 6.
