Good Morning. It's Monday 18th March, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Whites top Championship with hard fought victory over Lions Goals from Wilfred Gnonto and Dan James were enough to tame an over-exuberant Millwall side, and send Leeds top of the Championship table. There's never a bad time to top the table, though few would disagree that the business end of the season is a good place to start. As in recent matches, the performance from Farke's men was far from vintage; but with just eight games remaining, fans won't care if the team has to claw their way over the finish line, as long as they gain automatic promotion! From the opening whistle, the visitors were intent on making life difficult for Leeds, but getting ten men behind the ball was only half the problem! The boys from Bermondsey have always been a physical and somewhat dirty side, but much of their behaviour went unpunished by the man in black. How Neil Harris' men finished the game with eleven players is bewildering; with Jake Cooper in particular living a charmed life. The 29yo had a scuffle with Gnonto (earning both players a booking), he elbowed Rutter in the face and bought Roden down in the penalty box, right under the nose of Stephen Martin, yet remained on the pitch. It took a moment of magic from Wilfred Gnonto to unlock the Millwall defence. The plucky Italian weaved his way through a sea of orange, before unleashing a thunder bolt from the edge of the area, worthy of a goal of the season contender. With ten minutes of the game remaining, Leeds made the game safe. Rutter picked out Dan James in a packed penalty area. The Welshman took an eternity, before picking his spot from six yards out. please log in to view this image Top five contenders of the season It's not going to be long before the player of the season is unveiled, so it's time to look at the top 5 contenders. Good morning everyone Great result yesterday, and i am still smiling from it. As far as the stand out players for me. James Ruter (but not in front of goal) Gruev Sommerville Gnonto (has an impact in many games) But Farke for me has exceeded all expectations, and deserves most of the credit for what's happening at the moment. But it's not been down to just individuals, but the sum of the team, Farke has them all playing as a very efficient unit, both defensively and offensively (my word the 49'rs will love the way i worded that ) so i guess from the top down to the tea lady are all playing their part, and long may we continue to flourish and ultimately to become a formidable force in the premier league.
Morning all No player of the season for me, they have all played an important part so far. When it comes to a player in front of goal or one on one with the Keeper, I have more faith in Gnonto putting it away than any other player. Farke has been great but tell me another coach in this division that would not be envious at the abundance of talent we have at this level. On day one I said we would go up as champions and break records, seriously, any half decent coach should be able to with this team. I am not having a downer on Farke but he has the best attacking players in the division. Another huge factor so far is injuries compared to previous seasons. Still a long way to go and anything could still happen
Player of the season. If I had to give it now it would be Ampadu for me and quite an easy call At christmas it would have been an ampadu v jimmy coin toss, but Jimmy seems to have lost his spark. But agree that it's been an all round team effort with all deserving of praise.
Agree with all of that fella. And if we go up as record breaking champs you will definitely have earned full gloating rights
Bank holiday here. Morning all. Great to send the wallies home with tails firmly between their legs. Horrible club who offer nothing to football entertainment. Contrast their on field thugs to our class acts. A great bunch of young lads many who learned from the likes of Luke Ayling. Must admit to a tinge of sadness this season is nearing an end. It’s been immense
As usual, I'm in full agreement. Ampadu is class. Started every game and played in midfield and at centre half. Always an 8 or 9 out of 10 performance. Now captain too. Great signing.

Afternoon all. What a nice feeling to be sitting top of the division though my pessimism still makes me think we’ll miss out, just wish two of the other three would drop out. Credit to Farke or the recruitment team for the signings of Ampadu and Rodon, key signings and our best CB pairing in a few years.
Mrs Whitejock just found an article online about Bill visiting us & being at the game. Not unexpected, but the £5000 he put behind the bar is! Top bloke, as well as a marvellous servant to the club.
Apart from last nights result for scum, there is a great example of a team of great players but not a team with a manager who can make it one.. think you are selling Farke short on this one! I do agree on the injury front though!
On the plus side on telly every week just about. I watched win my local twice and with olof yesterday.
