Morning Jeff, be interesting to see if he's still got a career in football.
Good luck to him.

Os land Cook and target Craig

QPR winger arrives on loan with Lions defender set to follow

Last Updated: November 24, 2011 11:19am

Skysports.com revealed earlier that Cook was poised to leave Loftus Road for a temporary spell with the League One club, and the deal has now been rubber-stamped.

The 29-year-old's career has been blighted by injuries in recent seasons and he has started just 40 games in the last four-and-a-half years.

His one appearance for Rangers this term came in a 2-0 home Carling Cup defeat by Rochdale in August.

But Orient manager boss Russell Slade has handed Cook the chance to kick-start his career at Brisbane Road after losing midfielder Dean Cox to injury for a month.

And left-back Craig is set to make the move across London from the Den with Slade eager to swiftly find a replacement for Charlie Daniels.

The 26-year-old defender will remain with the League One club until 31st December and is set to make his debut in Saturday's trip to Sheffield Wednesday.

He has plenty of time at 29 if he remains injury free. Big if though.

He's found his level now and if he stays injury free can make a decent player in that Div. Was a great CCC player once but sadly that were a long time ago.

The only thing that I would disagree with is I don't think that he was ever a consistently 'great' championship player, a good one but not a great one.

QPR assistant boss pays tribute to Cook

QPR assistant manager Mick Jones has paid tribute to Lee Cook following his loan move to Leyton Orient.

Cook, 29, has struggled with knee problems in recent seasons and as a result did not make a single competitive appearance for Fulham after they signed him from the R’s in 2008.

The popular winger returned to Loftus Road the following year but has been unable to rediscover his fitness and form, and has been out of the first-team picture for some time.

He has joined League One side Orient for an initial month with a view to extending his spell there if he performs well.

“He’d have liked to have played higher up, but at this stage I think the important thing for him is just to play games,” Jones told West London Sport.

“The lad has been a great servant to QPR and it’s a tragedy that he’s had the injury problems he has.

“What I love about the guy is that he’s not bitter and doesn’t feel sorry for himself like you get with some footballers. He doesn’t go around saying ‘Life’s dealt me a bad hand’ or any of that.

“He’s a great person, he really is, and I really hope that in the next stage of his career he can play some games and enjoy his football.”

Cook is expected to make his O’s debut in Saturday’s match at Sheffield Wednesday.

Rangers spent much of Thursday trying to find takers for Rob Hulse and other fringe players in a bid to get them out on loan before the deadline.

Hulse recently turned down a temporary move to Doncaster because he did not want to be away from his family, who live in the south.

Remember him sitting in the stands with us all a few years back at Chelsea. He was a great laugh and got involved in all the banter and singing.

Good luck mate

If only we could blend the two, what a player & servant to the club that would be!
