I'd rather go out the cup than lose as league game. Hopefully, it'll give us a kick up the arse and help us push on in the league

Paid the price for not finishing it off in the second half when Utd were anonymous.

oh **** me that is hard to take as we should have sewn it up in second half .
the game management wasn't great to say the least but part of the problem is so many players are well in their red zone having just come back from injury

    they've cracked.

they've never looked like they got 2 solid lines and not one single ball up the park stuck on anyone.

if eriksen is stood at cb then nunez should be on him.

it's just a fact that if utd did get them on target they'd have won well.

we were just too negative. there was plenty of opportunity there to go at them and we bottled it basically. we just went negative and let them off.

they should be on a 90minute 4-1 hiding and all the pressure back on.

we make **** passes when in ourselves (gakpo) and just don't deliver.

I think we went too strong v sparta and just blew up in midfield

Leaving yourself that vulnerable for a corner at the death is absolutely ridiculous.

    Got what they deserved

I cannot believe how we lost that game. We should be 4-1 just on our 2nd half domination. But we couldn’t score and Klopp sub his most dangerous strikers.

Scandalous and that’s the issue: we gave them a glorious win on a poor season for them, they now have a great lift and their team has been lifted by our poor scoring.

The impact on their season and ours could be massive.

also kelleher bowling it out to him was stupid. he had the ball in hand there and could.let time play out.

    nunez was stupid then.

remember we had fernandes trying his best to get off the park as well.

you really have to think they just threw it away by just not being sensible.

it's easy to attack better than to just tap tap tap about and lose the momentum and drive.

The better team lost but our bitter rivals and their fans will be on a high for weeks by stopping our quadruple. Let’s now focus on a treble.

Too many games, too many injuries. It had to tell in the end. A pity it was today.

Overral I thought Quansah yet again brilliant. Moment at one point ball goes up to halfway and with 2 United players closing him down instead of trying to knock it back to keeper, he lets Bruno run past him, brings the ball down and just plays simple pass. Guy oozes quality atm. Another couple years learning from vvd and he has a real chance of being mainstay of the defence there.

Who cares, let them have it and tie ETH to a lovely new contract. Every dog has their day

Tricky one today. Didn’t think the subs made an impact like they have normally done. Elliott was decent and scored.

Gakpo again was poor. Came on did nothing, wanted too many touched up top.

On the plus side, media can shut up taking about the quad now. So annoying, was annoying a couple years ago. Was annoying again this season.

Rather today than any other game between now and the end of the season, tbh.

Cannot agree. Any other game we are not out of the competition. This game was a must win against our bitter rivals, especially for a FA semifinal at wembley. The feelgood factor that this win will give them will be massive.

I really don't care what it does for them, only what it does for us. I'm sure we can lose a game occasionally and come back.
I think we should try to win every competition we're in, but at this stage and within the context of our current season, this was the least hurtful to me.

They'll still have to play City in the final. At which point they'll find their bus to park at Wembley

    it was obvious.

always going to see karma rub it in that bit more.

3 chances to win that game by avoiding a silly goal and 3 times coughed up.
