Exactly basically it's OK to get Pardew because they didn't like him in the 1st place , but Howe can't be criticised because they like him. The situation is 1. Anything positive gets attributed to Howe 2. Anything negative is someone or somethings else's fault and Howe can't be blamed.
Funnily enough he looked far more animated on the touchline Today. He's not daft he'll know he needs to finish the season well.
Definitely next season will be key for him... more urgently the end of Longstaff and Burn ever playing for the club again needs to happen now.
Biggest issue for me is he doesn't seem to learn his lesson, makes the same mistakes again and again, by all accounts based on what we've seen if we go into next season with no new signings at left back he will persist with Dan Burn starting thr majority of our games again. I wont hold the injuries against him or this result against the best team in the world but my god man at least show a willingness to try and fix tactical issues.
Hall Miley and Anderson played well so surely that's Burn and Longstaff finally being removed from the side?
You've made a lot of valid points and I agree Wilson should never have been kept. Trippier, Burn and Bruno signed in January '22 and more or less played every game when fit/not suspended till now but played a huge part of were we are today, is that down to Howe not trusting anyone else, who knows? I'm happy we're competing now, teams don't rock up to St James and have there 3 points now, they have to earn it, and yes we could be doing better but not going to dwell on it.
If you said that in the first place I would agree but you didn’t. You just criticised Howe for playing Isak at CF. He is a CF and was bought as a CF. He is normally a very good finisher and has a very good goals per game ratio for us. Our only other CF is injured but you criticised Howe for playing him there hence I asked who was the alternative as you obviously know better. Still waiting for that to be answered despite the mental gymnastics
