In truth it won't matter what we think if he keeps losing games. This is a crossroads now imo. Managers don't tend to turn things around once the milk turns sour. We will find out mate, but I don't think Howe will be here by Xmas at the very latest.
I'm highlighting a significant issue especially vs sides that will have control in games. The fact this is the man city thread or the fact Wilson is injured doesn't change that. If I simply say we need a new striker and isak is better playing off one or to the left that's what I'm getting at just without the explanation surrounding having nobody in the front 3 that can hold it up.
Those guys win because they're starting at a higher level than Howe did, clubs are moneyed and they have 80% of the team already, Howe came in avoided relegation, 2nd season finished 4th and cup final, this season 2 QFs, Europe, top half of the table and after 10 or 12 seasons looking over our shoulders in the relegation zone I'm happy, get over yourselves ffs.
So when it went wrong he didn't turn it around? Also is a yoyo manager really going to be the one ? I don't.
A lot of the issues are outside of Howes control but he doesn't even seemed to have identified issues the fans have been seeing for months.
he got relegated after promotion. I'm not being mean, but he's quite a way off being what's required.
He took them from the lower leagues to the PL and kept them up for 4 years. He won manager of the decade.
What you're saying there is, we have been **** and you're happy with not being **** anymore. That's fair enough, but the arguments being made here is we don't want to regress, when we have a good chance to push on. If anyone can sit here and tell me right now there are not massive faults with not just the squad, but the management of players, they're not being intellectually honest. If people want to come from an emotional point of view and say they like how and want to keep him, that's fine. But people acting like it's purely down to to tired legs or whatever, that Howe needs time to become Ferguson, they're having a laugh. I think it's extremely concerning that Trippier continued to be our starting 11 RB with a 40m replacement on the bench, while Burn has been a key player for Howe despite signing a much young 30 million replacement. These players have been signed, but they're not being played until there is literally no choice. Miley is better than Longstaff, but Longstaff is starting 11, not Miley. Wilson should never have been retained at Newcastle, but he was. The mistakes above are not an incredible trophy winning manager strapped for cash lol. Come on.
Steve Bruce got promoted loads and made a cup final. The likes of Chris Wilder and Roy Keane have had similar success. The level Newcastle want is surely way above Howe's resume.
