Like I said in previous threads I don't rate Ba as a lone striker ... so I think we should either play Benny-Best or Best-Ba

 

Since Best and Tiote are both injured, neither will play and Pardew isnt the type of manager that will drop a player on one performance. So because of that i cant see why it's going to be anything other than:

The only possible change form this i see, is Gosling coming on for Guthrie. I think he will at some stage anyway (rather than Perch hopefully, due to Guthrie carrying an injury even into the Man City game and missing training all week.)

No chance of that happening at all.

Even if this was some ****ty game against a team we'd be expected to dominate woudl that happen. Theres an obvious pecking order and Pardew is the type of manager that would stick with that forumla. What makes you think he'd going to suddenly decide to skip over two or three other midfielders that are already lined up to suddenly put Abeid in there for his premiership debut away at Man Utd?!

Everyone wants to see them progress to the first team, but it isnt going to be any time soon.

Vuckic only seems to play the AM '10' role or lone striker for the reserves these days too.

 

Agreed about this, but you can't really drop Ba considering the amount of goals he's scored this season. Also, annoyingly, Best will likely get subbed on for HBA and they wont see much time playing together in the immediate future, until the ACON at least.

I think Abeid's a decent shout. Pardew talks about Guthrie being a "certain type of player", which is a creative/box-to-box type, which is the same as Cabaye. He wants to play an anchorman like Tiote for a game like this, but Gosling is not that player either and Abeid is. Abeid is also the player we are apparently going to play in Tiote's absence during the ACoN.

 

Yes to this, but if Ben Arfa was out I think we'd just go back to a 4-4-2.

Yeah, I agree with this formation too.

 

All that supposed talk of him coming in for Tiote's spot was before Guthrie came in and showed he can handle himself. Considering Tiote has been out for a while now, don't you find it a kite strange that Abeid has never once even really came close to taking that spot? It went straight to Guthrie, then Gosling and even Perch after that. I'm sure not the only one who sees Abeid being a completely different player to Tiote :s

Also, he's going off for Algeria's Olympic friendly games at some point which is why he apparently won't be loaned out. But I'm not too sure when they are.
