Wasn't he replaced by Philpott on the left wing? But you're definitely right about Kevin Francis passing to the Orient player.
Overrated Underrated - Main Discussion - Norwich City - The Pinkun Forums Norwich doing a similar-ish thread, bet he nicked it from here.... Plagiarism, is a form of flattery, I guess.
Remember it well. Took over a big pub as well. Not enough staff so everyone bought from the off licence across the road and enjoyed the ambiance inside.
Also recall a couple of flares going off on the High Street too. A little mob of Orient 'ultras' bumped into myself and a couple of mates when heading towards the ground, they thought we were Orient and said 'Faking Hal everywhere, be careful lads'.....then ran off.
Fair enough you know him, I only know him as a player for us and for him to celebrate like he did in front of us still makes him a **** in my eyes.
Got another one. Ian Goodison. When the Jamaican lads turned up, everyone was focused on Theodore Whitmore. His skills were levels above. Ian Goodison was ok, fairly decent. I seem to remember they had different trajectories. Not that Whitmore was ever bad, just that Goodison became a really solid and dependable centre back for us right until he moved on.
David Boyack I think he was a half decent number 8 or 10 Scottish lad - didn’t stay long enough did he ?
Same time as McGinty methinks, both of them weren't too bad, considering what we had at that time. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Saw him score a cracking goal for us at Stockport, FL Cup 1st round. We raced into a 2-0 lead and managed to end up drawing, could even have lost but for the first twenty minutes of that game we were like Real Madrid. The other 70 odd minutes we were like Fray Bentos. ( ask your dad)
Was it Paddy Maginty the goat - herder That bloody Val Doonican, and ‘worldwide family favourites ‘ got a lot to answer for in the 60’s
No need, I know what it is and was at the match. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Another who was unappreciated for a long time was Damien Delaney, played out of position at left back, and took so much abuse, but then switched to his natural cb position and changed opinions around the stadium.
delaney gave away a penalty in an early game with us. it wasn't something he could do much about but it meant some of our more judgmental east stand twats (yes, there were too many and that's exactly what they were) got on his back and never got off it. the same twats (and yes, twats, bastards, and ****s) regularly moaned about and whinged at whoever our right-back was and never let up, no matter what. mike edwards and bobby macneill were two that only got discouragement and never a word of encouragement or praise from those ****ers. sometimes i wonderered how they had the gall to call themselves city supporters. whiny gobshites.
