Wrote this a couple of months back. Leicester have now played 14 games without Ndidi. They lost 6 and drew 1. He is vital to them. He's the black Flynn Downes. Bad news is he's back from injury already, and has come on as sub in their last two games.
Well exactly. Be like us travelling to both Boro and Leeds in the same week, doubt we'd want to do it. It's a bit much to expect them just to stay down south for 3/4 days imo.
We could have offered them Staplewood for Weds, Thurs & Friday then a short trip for them to Plymouth on Saturday. Being in the south, they could class it as warm weather training
Haha yeah that's a fair point. Though I'd argue it's different when it's part of the standard fixture list to it being imposed at a weeks notice.
This weekend: Ipswich v Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday Leeds v Millwall on Sunday Expect them both to win, particularly as they are at home. We really really shouldn't have lost at home to Millwall. If one of them drops points this weekend it will be a bonus! If Leeds win they will leapfrog Leicester into first place!! And if Ipswich win they'll be just one point behind Leicester. Chance for both to really turn up the pressure.
It's cos magic is a shrewdy and realises not getting promoted will be much better than having to play in the PL.
Not fussed about going up, but if we have to I’d much rather beat Leeds than you to get there. Beating Leeds in the play off final would almost be worth having to go back to the pointless PL
Yeah, i'm not bothered about rushing back to the PL, this has been the best season since Koeman left. The only thing I miss is not being in a race for europe or having a remotely realistic shot at a trophy in the cups.
Yeah this season has been enjoyable, next probably will be aswell if we don’t go up. Then we can become a mid table Champ team with no parachute payments and no chance of getting to the PL and work towards Libby’s goal of League 1
Obviously it's unfair that only two of the top four will be getting automatic promotion. But I'd say it's also unfair that, most likely, only one of Norwich, Coventry and Hull will be making the play-offs. I could see any of them winning the play-offs.
Next season is likely to be pretty tricky. The Championship financial rules are going to take a bite out of any of Leicester/Leeds/ourselves that don't go up, so another sell-off is likely. Even if a weaker group gets relegated this year, I'm really unconvinced that next year is going to be all that enjoyable.
