Too much money in the game now for them to be given that chance. Our high turnover of managers is skewed by the short era where it was stay in the Premier league at all costs and new managers were brought in near the end of the season just to achieve survival with no long term planning to their appointment.

Would that then not be the same as changing managers as soon as they hit a bad patch, we now change a DOF when they hit a bad patch? Or is the signings/appointments made in the last year been the direction of KLD and not all Speakman.

Speakman has got a lot wrong recently but is it all down to him and has also done well since his arrival, just don't think we need to be too hasty in sackings just for one poor season. Although I do think this summer is massive for the club to get it right in terms of next head coach and signings.

That’s fair enough mate. I think he knows a lot more than ppl give him credit for, he was pretty bang on about the takeover from KLD when it happened and knows quite abit about the goings on behind the scenes at the club.

You mean since he sold up to Drumaville? It mostly has been **** since then but that's why many of us think KLD is the best owner we've had for donkey's years. Lots has been right under him. Sacking Mowbray probably was the wrong move but it's an isolated mistake amongst many good ones under this ownership.

Speakman made it clear they had been monitoring Beale as a coach for some time. Talked about watching coaches closely and those who are progressing or different things. Also said they had a clear shortlist ready and process of interviews that ignored outside noise of other candidates. All implications, in my opinion, was Beale was on the list at the start and proved best fit after the selection process.

That's all fair mate, I've just never seen what Bob claimed reported anywhere. This is what bothers me, statements are made that Sartori is buying another club when he isn't, KLD is selling the club when he isn't, Alex Neil was stitched up when he wasn't, etc etc etc.

If people stuck to actual facts, instead of making them up, it would help.

Here is a fact, we will win 3-1 today.

Mundle and Jobe will score, and Hemir will hit an absolute screamer. Then I will have to eat my hat re Hemir - which I will be delighted to.

As an added bonus a mystery man will be sat next to Speakman, our next head coach.

Would make for a good night on here anyway.

We started to get things right since Speakman came in tbf, KLD n Speakman have taken us so far forward

I get Speakman isnt everyones cup of tea but the folk who constantly slag him, didnt offer him any praise when he had got things right n always focus on the things hes done wrong

Hes got a lot wrong this season and my opinion of him has definitely soured this season but hes also got a hell of a lot right since coming in

Who knows if he'll still be here in the summer but if he is its make or break for him this summer

Things haven't gone as well this season as the previous two seasons but that's due to a combination of factors. Some of Speakman's decisions have been wrong but you can't blame injuries and loss of form on him. It's not been the season we all expected based on last season but its hardly a crisis.

Mid table in the championship? Yeah results at the moment are dreadful but **** happens in football, every club goes through **** like this it's not a Sunderland specific problem. Look at actual precedent, look at where the clubs we came up with are now, yes Ipswich are doing great this season but i'm really doubtful they go up and then what happens to them next season? Why do you give him so much **** when he's quite literally dragged the club from the grave your mates were digging. You never, ever give Donald/Methven even close to the same amount of stick you give the current regime. Maybe it's because they actually gave you the attention you so clearly crave whereas the current regime see you for what you are.
