Good news, how many more on the way? Got to strike a balance with what we've got and what we need if that's not stating the bleeding obvious.
also sends out a powerful message to young players we show interest in.......we're building a squad for the long term, with a great set-up and great facilities , and a young, ambitious owner with a wealth of experienced football people behind him. Its a great place to develop your potential and further your career. oh, and we don't do murder, rape and torture or chuck homosexuals off the roof, or wear tea-towels, just in case you're wondering.
Got to assume a midfielder and a striker are on the list (assuming we also sign Roberts to provide cover/competition in the wide areas)
Looks like a right handy ****er. Love his last ditch , non-nonsense defending more than his goals which were non-too shabby. Great to see the right-back slot getting sorted out. I think he’ll be in the squad if he’s fit enough….
In previous seasons we would have gone into this window desperate and probably blown a bit of money on "proven" L1 players only to be let down. Good to see the young, hungry, big potential type signings we seen in the summer continue. We really do need to go up this season but I think we are in good hands for the long term regardless.
His last game was only a week ago or summit. A few days training with the lads this week and he’ll be straight into the squad Saturday you’d think.
Another decent article on this kid, we could have signed a gem here… https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59862313
Good player but been off the boil of late. Seems to be getting exposed a bit, needs to reign it in a bit for me, getting forward too much and then needs to lunge or make last ditch tackles. Is he one close to suspension ?
Out of all our signings he’s been by far one of our best finds. You could see he had something about him from the first time he appeared. I also think he’s one we will be getting offers for.
Think, when fully fit, we have some of the best fullbacks in the league. Hume, Huggins, Alese, and Cirkin are all excellent and offer different strengths. Leo’s doing well for the amount of time he’s been here, and the **** show he’s been thrown into. Hopefully more to come from Pembele. Hume has a great knack of positioning himself well to make brilliant tackles and interceptions, and whips in great crosses too. I’d argue with people saying he’s getting caught out too high up the pitch due to the frustration of their being no forward movement or play ahead of him, the lad is trying to drag the team up the pitch sometimes. I’d still be really keen to see him infront of the back four in preseason perhaps, can see him as a real cattermole type figure
